Abstract

A skin scrub composition, and method for exfoliating, moisturizing and protecting the skin are provided. The composition is composed of sea salt, carrier oil, essential oil and/or fragrance oil, and a lecithin-derived phospholipid emulsifier. In use, when the clear oil and salt composition is rubbed onto skin, it becomes an opaque creamy material that exfoliates while moisturizing the skin in the same time it takes to use conventional soap. When rinsed off, the composition leaves no oily residue on the skin or the shower/tub surface. Also provided are a process for preparing the composition, and an article of manufacture containing the composition and related components for treating the skin.
