Abstract

L'invention concerne un dispositif servant à calculer la vitesse de déplacement et la distance parcourue par un utilisateur. Ce dispositif comprend un récepteur GPS destiné à calculer la position et la vitesse de mouvement de l'utilisateur, et un capteur détectant les mouvements de l'utilisateur et produisant un signal de mouvement. Un processeur reçoit un signal position/vitesse provenant du récepteur et l'utilise pour calculer la distance parcourue par l'utilisateur depuis une position donnée. Il utilise ensuite le signal de mouvement pour vérifier si la distance calculée et la vitesse mesurée de l'utilisateur correspondent au mouvement réel de l'utilisateur. Dans un second mode de réalisation, un premier et un second transpondeurs sont conçus pour être fixés aux membres de l'utilisateur, notamment aux chevilles, et émettent des signaux l'un vers l'autre. Les transpondeurs se transmettent l'un vers l'autre une séquence de signaux précisément synchronisée, et les variations du temps de parcours des signaux sont traitées de manière à déterminer la vitesse de mouvement et la distance parcourue par l'utilisateur.
