Abstract

Ce système de distribution automatique d'un ruban, destiné à une thérapie radique intravasculaire, permet un stockage sûr, un déroulement et une récupération d'un ruban contenant des éléments radioactifs. Ce dispositif de distribution permet la fixation d'un cathéter de thérapie radique intravasculaire spécial, à travers lequel un mécanisme d'entraînement déploie le ruban et effectue le retrait de celui-ci. Dans le cas peu probable où ce mécanisme est défaillant, lors du retrait du ruban, laissant les éléments radioactifs à l'extérieur de la zone de confinement, des moyens de retour destinés à récupérer le ruban sont disponibles. Des caractéristiques additionnelles comprennent un mécanisme limitant tout accès non autorisé au ruban, ainsi que des moyens d'immobilisation du ruban pendant la période de traitement. Ce dispositif de distribution peut fonctionner en tant que dispositif distributeur manuel autonome, ou on peut le combiner à un système automatique (autonome). Lorsque l'on raccorde le dispositif de distribution à un système automatique, on a accès à diverses caractéristiques du dispositif de distribution, lesquelles comprennent le stockage interne de données destinées à des informations de configuration, la fixation correcte du cathéter par détection, des indications de position locale et la commande moteur du mécanisme de déploiement/retrait.
