Abstract

The invention relates to a two-stage method for recovering products; anhydrous hydrogen fluoride (52) and uranium oxides (34), particularly triuranium octoxide, from the defluorination of uranium hexafluoride (14) and similar feedstocks which involves treating uranium oxide hydrate intermediate in the second stage (reaction zone) (20) with HF/water azeotrope and/or hydrogen.
