Abstract
Single use discardable and auto-locking syringe comprising a barrel, a plunger and a locking means to prevent a subsequent aspiration. The locking means comprising radially expanding elastic claws connected to the plunger and being compressed together by a retaining ring in order to avoid their contact with the inner wall of the barrel. During injection stroke the friction between the retaining ring and the inner side wall of the barrel is higher than the one between the retainer ring and the claws. Consequently the retaining ring remains stationary at the proximal end of the barrel the claws disengage from the retaining ring and spread radially due to their elasticity to engage the inner side wall of the barrel and inhibit retracting plunger rod so as to prevent reloading of the syringe. Moreover, if forced retraction of the plunger is attempted in order to reload the syringe the claws will perforate the syringe barrel due to their sharpened ends. The production costs of the locking means are very low.
Description
LOCKING AND BLOCKING SYSTEM FOR DISCARDABLE OR DISPOSABLE SYRINGE
The present invention, has the finality to avoid the re-utilization of detachble syringe, considering that this -device permits only one utilization, after the first aplica- tion, the syringe auto-locks, itself (itself), and it becomes not-utilizable, and it's denominated: not re-utilizable (ΛUTO_ LOCKING SYRINGE ) .
The syringes that are sold actualy, are simply de -descardble , but it αoesn't avoid it's re-utilization.
This device, was created to be aplied in the big a jority of the actual descardble syringes that are sold on the market, so, it's conception doesn't change, and the device or mechanism can be installed in any kind of syringes, any size, - any capacity.
The device or mechanism consists into two parts :pro tector RING and small cross claw (SEE FIGURE "A"- PAGE 01/03) and (FIGURE "B"- PAGE 01/03).
The ring (FIGURE A"A- PAGE 01/03) is made of the -same material of the syringe body, it's dimensions vε-riate according to the syringe dimensions, the internal syringe diameter, is the: ring's diameter the ring's height up to 5ml is one half of the external diameter of the syringe: 3 ml and 4ml,: 3/4 of the external diameter of the syringe; and lower -than 2rrJ the syringe's external diameter is the same of the syringe ' s body .
The small cross (FIGURE "B"- PAGE 01/03), is made of inoxidable stainless metal or similar, and flexible, very hard, the diameter is the same used on the syringe needle, and -usually the height is 4mm larger than the syringe, where it will be applied two shafts (FIGURE "F"- PAGE 03/03), they are fixed with contact solder and the extrerni ties ..srønee leshape for a good locking, and it's fixation (CF TI-IE SHAF OF TΪI
SYRINGE), (FIGURE "E" , AND CORTEX "F-F"- PAGE 01/03) is made during the sha t's manufacturing becoming fused in the middle of the reforce corners, but the center of the small cross is fixed, and it's points free to move. - The syringe manufacturing with the "locking device" is according the sequence of the page (02/03), firstly is mounted the rubber-wadding, and inserting it inside the syringe's body until the bottom of the rubier (FIGURE "G"), and is mounted the protector ring of the claw of the small cross, -and the ring is divided into: (CORTEX "C-C" ON FIGURE "A" PAGE 01/03) to close it and to be inserted in the body of the syringe passing through the superior part of this body, that is closed 2mm (SUPERIOR PART OF THE FIGURE "H" PAGE 02/03) and the ring is fixed on the rubleer wadding (FIGURE "H"- PAGE -02/03), and it's mounted on the syringe's shaft, with the small cross and claws fused, when inserting the clav/s in the body of the syringe (SUPERIOR BODY), with a light pressure , the claws are moved, and are inserted in the body of syringe's body, without damoge it, until it towch the ring with -light pressure, and the claws get/touch inside the ring, loosing contact with the body of the syringe and the setting of joggle in the inferior par of the shalt (DETAIL IN THE UPPER SIDE OF THE FIGURE "I"- PAGE 02/03), so, the locking system is perfectly mounted. - Uhen this system is working, it's on page (03/03) ,
(THE FIGURE "J"), show the syringe virgin, and the figure "K" shows the syringe already with succioned liquid, the protector ring of small cross, with the claws retired, it permits a slightly movement upward, it's pushed by the claws and -by the rubleer waddiny the system permits the expulsion of the air inside the syringe at the end of the succion of the liquid in the vase, it also permits the backlash of the blood, certifing that the needle touched the artery.
When the syringe's shaft is pushed to EJECT the liquid, the ring (SEE THE CORTEX "C-C" OF FIGURE "A" ON PAGE 01/03), is expanded with the tension from the four claws of de small cross, sliding a.gainst the friction of the points, in the -internal part of the ring.
This one is imoveble (fixed), it permits that the shaft flow dov/n, and the clav/s are libered from the internal part of the syringe's body and ejecting all liquid inside it, after this process the syringe it fully locked (SEE FIGURΞ"L" -ON PAGE 03/03) the four claws are towhed in the internal part of the syringe, it doesn't permit that the shaft return, if there is an harder effort to push out the shaft, the four- claws will perfurate/or/damage the syringe's body defineti- vely (FIGURE "II"- PAGE 03/03). - After the locking system is mounted (SEE FIGURE "J"
PAGE 03/03), the same doesn't permit it's dismounting, because the protector ring will be blocked ley upper boarder of the syringe, in this case, the syringe is INUTILIZED (SEE UPPER PICTURE "H"- PAGE 02/03).
Claims
R E V I D I C A T I O S
01 - "DEVICE TO LOCK DISPOSΛBLE/DESCARDBLE SYRINGES" it's caracterized by a ring that receive four claws of a meta- lic small cross, that is fixed on the downward part of a shaft -inside the syringe's body, this system permits only one utilization of the same syringe, because the shaft is locked and closed, if there is an hard stress to open it this device will perfurate/or/damage the syringe's body.
