Abstract

L'invention se rapporte à un procédé et à un dispositif destinés à détruire des explosifs militaires, tels que le trinitrotoluène, contenus dans des munitions d'artillerie. L'invention vise surtout la destruction des munitions en question, qui sont souvent stockées dans des locaux inadéquats, dans des régions dispersées et souvent désolées. La destruction s'opère sur place au moyen d'une installation mobile (1). Les munitions (3) sont placées dans des cassettes (4), disposées devant ladite installation (1) et reliées avec elle de manière à l'alimenter. A l'intérieur de l'installation (1), un robot (6) enlève et met à côté les amorces (8) de munitions (3) qui sont montées sur des obus (7). On évacue ensuite par lavage le trinitrotoluène ou toute autre matière explosive que contiennent ces obus (7), sans procéder à la fusion. On utilise pour le lavage une solution (11) peu onéreuse et acceptable du point de vue de l'environnement, telle que l'éthylacétate, qui est pulvérisée par des buses (10) dans une machine à laver (9). De cette manière, le trinitrotoluène est dissous dans cette solution et recueilli dans un récipient dont on peut récupérer l'éthylacétate en excès pour obtenir une solution non explosive qui se prête au stockage et peut être brûlée dans des dispositifs de chauffage traditionnels.
