Definitions
- the invention relates to a connection arrangement on a garland idler roller set according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Garland carrier roller sets of this type which as a result are a chain formed from the rollers, are suspended from a supporting frame.
- garland carrier roller sets are preferred over the carrier roller sets rigidly arranged in scaffolding because, in addition to the much simpler construction of the belt support frame, they also have the advantage of a garland that can be freely adjusted under the weight of the belt Geometry, which fact leads to a more even bearing behavior of the rollers.
- garland idler roller sets can be lowered during operation, so that a defective idler roller disengages from the belt it carries.
- connection between the garland support roller set and the supporting structure and between two adjacent support rollers of the garland support roller set requires a relatively large amount of work when using known connecting elements.
- This offset arrangement of the at least one central idler roller relative to the lateral idler rollers takes into account the fact that the garland idler roller set is so far out of the geometrically optimal position, due to the movement resistances acting on it, and also due to gravity in the case of an inclined belt axis the idler roller axis is aligned perpendicular to the belt running direction, is pivoted until the forces acting on the idler roller set, weight of the idler roller set, load from the belt and load, and resistance to movement - again create a balance of moment around the suspension points of the garland. The twist takes place around the axis, which is determined by the two suspension points of the garland.
- the lateral support rollers In the position pivoted relative to the geometrically optimal position, the lateral support rollers form a camber angle with the belt running direction, which leads to increased resistance to movement and thus an increased power requirement.
- the center of gravity of the garland is shifted in the direction in which the central support roller is offset from this plane. This has the consequence that the garland in its starting position, in which no movement resistance acts on it, that is to say when the belt conveyor is at a standstill, has a design-related camber angle, that is to say that the side rollers are inclined against the belt running direction.
- this camber angle which is due to the design, is Siert, whereby with appropriate choice of the length of the distance by which the middle idler is offset, the dynamic camber angle, i.e. the camber angle caused by the running belt, can correspond to the constructive camber angle and thus, since both camber angles are opposite to each other, the resulting Camber angle becomes zero. Due to the changing and fluctuating loading of the belt, this will often only be an ideal condition to be aimed for.
- the invention has for its object to perform the connecting elements used for the connection of two components of a supporting structure provided with garland idler roller sets for a belt conveyor in such a way that they are simple to manufacture and easy to handle and, if necessary, without any significant additional expense can be configured that the at least one central support roller is arranged offset from the lateral support rollers in the sense described above.
- the aim is that in this case too, the amount of work required to establish the connection remains low.
- connection Two connecting elements are therefore required for each connection, which can be configured in the same way and have two legs running essentially at right angles to one another, of which the first leg effects the connection between this element and the first of the two components to be connected to one another and the second leg is in engagement with the first leg of the other connecting element, which is also in engagement with the second component.
- the result of this connection of the two connecting elements to one another is that they are torsionally rigid with respect to moments which act around the longitudinal axis of the central support roller.
- the two cooperating connecting elements can be secured by means of a screw nut which can expediently be screwed onto the leg of at least one of the two connecting elements, which runs essentially perpendicular to the associated idler axis.
- a screw nut which can expediently be screwed onto the leg of at least one of the two connecting elements, which runs essentially perpendicular to the associated idler axis.
- this leg with an external thread at its free end, which protrudes from the second leg of the respective other connecting element.
- connection between the axis of the respective idler roller and the connecting element interacting therewith can be made in a simple manner in that the axis is provided with an essentially radial bore through which the first leg of the connecting element can be inserted, whereby a plug connection arises, which at the same time the connection with the respective other connecting element, which is provided with a correspondingly dimensioned and positioned opening.
- the length of the first legs of both connecting elements essentially depends on whether the two support rollers connected by the connecting unit are offset from one another or not and possibly on the extent of this offset.
- the basic design of the connecting elements and also of the parts interacting with them is independent of the relative arrangement of the idlers.
- two embodiments of the invention are shown in the diagram. Show it:
- FIG. 1 is a front view of a support roller station of a belt conveyor
- Fig. 2 is a view of a section of a garland support roller set approximately in the direction of arrows II-II in Fig. 1, partially in section
- Fig. 3 is a view of the non-staggered connection between the support structure and garland support roller set approximately in the direction of arrow III in Fig. 1.
- the idler shown in FIG. 1 is provided in the usual way with two idler sets 10, 12 each designed as a garland or roller chain, of which the top idler set 10 is assigned to the upper run 14 and the bottom idler set 12 to the bottom run 16 of a belt conveyor.
- the two idler roller sets 10 and 12 are suspended from a support structure 18.
- Each idler roller set consists of a central idler roller 20 and two lateral idler rollers 22.
- the idler roller sets are carried by the carrier frame via brackets 24 which are attached to the carrier frame and are each connected to the lateral carrier rollers 22.
- the two idler roller sets 10, 12 have different geometries such that the upper run 14 carried by the idler roll set 10, which is generally the conveying run, experiences a greater trough than the lower run 16.
- FIG. 2 shows an embodiment of the connection between a central support roller 20 and one of the side support rollers 22.
- the arrangement is such that the middle idler 20 is offset from the lateral idlers 22 by a distance 26 such that it is located in the belt running direction 28 behind the vertical plane 30, which is defined by the longitudinal axes of the lateral idlers 22 when the garland idler set is at rest.
- the connecting unit 34 that establishes the connection between the two support rollers 20 and 22 has two connecting elements 36, 38, both of which are designed in the same way.
- the connecting element 36 is assigned to the middle supporting roller 20, the connecting element 38 to the outer supporting roller 22.
- Both connecting elements 36, 38 are designed at an angle such that the first leg 36a or 38a and the second leg 36b or 38b each run essentially perpendicular to one another, that is to say enclose a right angle.
- connection between the respective connecting element 36 or 38 and the associated support roller 20 or 22 takes place via a radial bore 44, 46 made in the end region of the respective support axis 40 or 42, in which a bolt-shaped section 48 or 50 with a circular cross-section of the respective first leg 36a or 38a can be inserted.
- the outer diameter of the bolt-shaped section 48 or 50 is adapted to the inner diameter of the bore 44 or 46 in such a way that the support axis 40 or 42 can be pivoted about the respective bolt 48, 50 without great play.
- the second leg 36b or 38b of each connecting element 36 or 38 is provided with a hole 52 or 54, the inside diameter of which corresponds to the outside diameter of the bolt-shaped section 48 or 50.
- the two connecting elements 36, 38 are designed and dimensioned such that, in the position which establishes the connection between the two support rollers 20, 22, the respective second leg 36b, 38b is positioned laterally next to the support axis 42 or 40 of the other roller 22, 20 in such a way is that the bore 52 or 54 is aligned with the bore 46 or 44 in the respective support axis 42 or 40 and thus the bolt-shaped section 48 or 50 of the each other connecting element 36 and 38 also extends through the bore 54 and 52 in the legs 38b and 36b.
- the connection arrangement according to the invention excludes pivoting movements about the longitudinal axis of one of the two support rollers.
- connection between the two support rollers 20, 22 is thus produced in such a way that a connecting element 36, 38 is connected to the axis of one of the two support rollers and at the same time both connecting elements are engaged with one another twice.
- the two connecting elements are locked by a screw nut 56 which, in the case of the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 2, is screwed onto the end region 58 of the bolt-shaped section 48 of the first connecting element 36 which is provided with an external thread.
- the nut 56 can be secured against accidental loosening using suitable means.
- a screw nut can also be attached to the end region of each of the two bolt-shaped sections 40, 50, although this is generally not necessary. 2, even if only one screw nut is used, the bolt-shaped section of the other connecting element, in this case section 50, can be provided with an external thread in order to standardize the connecting elements 36, 38 and thus to simplify their manufacture .
- the joining of the two connecting elements 36, 38 is extremely simple, especially since the collars or shoulders 70 present on the first legs 36a, 38a form a stop, so that when the bolt-shaped sections 48 and 50 are inserted into the bore of the respective component, the correct position of the two connecting elements 36, 38 to the two components to be connected to each other and thus to each other without additional measures.
- FIG. 3 shows details of the attachment of the garland idler roller set to the support frame 18 using the connection arrangement 34 according to the invention.
- the support axis 42 of the lateral support roller 22 is also provided at its end facing the support frame 18 with an essentially radial bore 44, into which the bolt-shaped section 48 of the first leg 36a of the first connecting element 36 can be inserted in the manner already described.
- the bolt-shaped section 50 of the second connecting element 38 projects through a bore 62 in the holder 24 which is essentially parallel to the bore 44 and which is carried by the supporting structure 18.
- the bracket 24, which may also be in the form of an axle section has the function of the supporting axle of the respective second supporting roller, that is to say, for example, the supporting roller 42 according to FIG. 2.
- Fig. 3 shows that the bracket 24 is carried by a fork piece 64 and is attached thereto by means of, for example, a welded connection.
- the fork piece 64 is engages with an actuator 66 pivotally attached to the actual support structure 18.
- the latter can be pivoted about a bolt 68 attached to the supporting structure 18.
- This known actuator which is not directly related to the invention, gives the possibility of somewhat lowering the garland idler roller set by pivoting and thereby causing an additional longitudinal movement of the actuator 66 relative to the bolt 68 and thus disengaging the conveyor belt.
