  • This invention relates to the authentication of manufactured items such as, for example clothing, and is concerned with the provision of a tamperproof authentication material suitable for use with such manufactured items.
  • a method of producing a tamperproof authentication material suitable for use with an item of manufacture which comprises applying to one surface of a first sheet of board or paper a plurality of identifying symbols by means of a printing process, and affixing to said first sheet by means of an adhesive and under pressure a second sheet of board or paper superposed on the surface of the first sheet bearing the identifying symbols, whereby when the resulting laminate is subjected to irradiation the identifying symbols present within the laminate are capable of becoming visible.

Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'un matériau d'authentification inviolable consistant à laminer entre elles deux feuilles de carton ou papier au moyen d'un adhésif et sous pression, la surface interne de l'une des feuilles de carton ou de papier portant une pluralité de symboles d'identification appliqués sur la surface lors d'une opération antérieure mettant en oeuvre un procédé d'impression adapté, tel qu'un procédé lithographique. Le laminé produit peut éventuellement être soumis à une surimpression avec une pluralité de segments d'information, puis être divisé en une pluralité de segments d'information individuels contenant chacun au moins une partie dudit symbole d'identification, lesdits segments ayant une taille adaptée à leur utilisation ultérieure. Lorsqu'on soumet ce laminé à un rayonnement, tel que la lumière visible, les symboles d'identification présents au sein dudit laminé deviennent visibles, ce qui rend possible l'authentification de l'article associé au laminé.
