Abstract

Cette invention concerne un adaptateur (10) servant à diriger un gaz de respiration depuis une source de gaz vers la cavité d'un tube endotrachéal à double cavité. Cet adaptateur possède trois positions de fonctionnement. Dans une de ces positions, les gaz de respiration s'écoulent vers les deux tubes par l'intermédiaire d'un raccord (16) et de l'un de deux autres raccords (22). Dans une deuxième position, les gaz de respiration s'écoulent vers l'un des poumons par l'intermédiaire de l'un des raccords (22), l'autre poumon étant relié à un accès de dégonflage (66) de l'adapatateur de manière à pouvoir s'aplatir. Dans une troisième position, les gaz de respiration s'écoulent à travers l'autre raccord (22) vers l'autre poumon, le premier poumon étant dégonflé par l'intermédiaire d'un autre accès de dégonflage. Des marques (20, 26, 28) sont disposées sur la surface externe de l'adaptateur, ceci de manière à ce qu'un utilisateur puisse déterminer la position dans laquelle ledit adaptateur se trouve parmi les trois positions possibles.
