Description

Title: "DENTOFACIAL DEVICE"
DISCLOSURE OF THE PATENT It refers the present invention to an unprecedented object that possesses the purpose of substituting all the types of pacifiers in use by children that don't still present the eruption of the deciduous previous incisive teeth, that is, of zero to six months. Constituted of a device of plastic or other provided flexible material of five different parts: a fixation ring and fittings; labial support ; union arm; ande tongue tip device.. Its main functions are to maintain the format and the coordination among the dental arcades, to stimulate the nasal breathing and to position the point of the tongue and lips correctly. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS For better understanding and visualization of the "DENTOFACIAL DEVICE" for now in subject, they follow the illustrative drawings, where: a) Fig. 1 - it shows a lateral view of the object in subject introduced in the buccal cavity; b) Fig. 2 - it shows a view in perspective of the object in subject. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PATENT The ring for fixation and adjustment is a device of rigid plastic with the format of a hoop of approximately 40 diameter mm, can be opened to readjust the length of the union arm through a restraint system located in them its extremity, that presses the union arm fastening its length in the wanted position. The labial support has the purpose of positioning the superior and inferior lips correctly, during the suction movements and breathing. This device presents perforations so that the child can breathe from the mouth in case the need. It possesses a "apple" type format where the superior extremity is below the nasolabial fold and the inferior extremity above the sublabiale fold, both with the borders bent on the outside, allowing an anatomical fitting with the labial areas, being of flexible material to adapt to the soft tissues of the face. It presents a tube of central plastic, through where it will pass the union arm. This tube presents a central perforation in the horizontal sense, where the ring will be inserted under traction and pressure, joining the labial support to the union arm. The union arm, is a connection piece that can be made in latex or other material, with the adjustable length in agreement with the thickness of each child's lips. It has 10mm width and 4mm of height, of round format and where to support the lips. It can have an adjustment of its length for the following cases: when the space between the lips and the labial support is larger than 5 mm or when the lips are pressed by the labial device. In these cases, the adjustment should be made in the following way: place a small amount (thickness of 2 to 3 mm) of cotton in the labial support, in it's superior and inferior portions, fastening with adhesive ribbon in the side that will enter in contact with the lips. Place the child in a vertical position and introduce the device in the buccal cavity; when the child has relaxed his lips, join the labial support touching the lips, without pressure, with the fixation ring. The dental arcade device, consists of a structure of massive latex (or other material) of biconcavity format with the inferior concavity of 1 ,5 mm posterior in relation to superior concavity. The function of these concavities is of positioning the child's alveolar processes correctly, avoiding the undesirable movements that can provoke alterations in the balanced development among the dental arcades. The border length to the border of the concavity is of 6 mm and 12mm width. The height of the most narrow part among the concavities is of 5mm. The device to position the toungue tip, is a structure in form of a "shell" in latex massive (or other material) that has the function of pushing the tip of the child's toungue to the correct position (higher, behind the anterior superior teeth). With the diameters, horizontal and vertical, approximately 18 mm. The union of this structure with the dental arcade device, divides the "shell" in two parts (superior and inferior) and it is central in the horizontal sense and in the vertical sense. The superior portion has a thickness of 3 mm and it presents a saliency in the superior extremity, on the lingual side, increasing the thickness in 4 mm. The inferior portion is bipartite, presenting a rift in its inferior border, for the accommodation of the lingual brake during the degluticion process. It presents two smaller saliencies in the two inferior extremites, increasing the thickness in 3,5 mm. These saliencies are beside the alveolar process and they will stimulate the correct positioning of the jaw. The borders are round to not traumatize the child's soft tissue. Many oral habits, are learned in childhood and can be considered normal. The first oral habit that is introduced to the child is the use of a pacifier, The first pacifier that a child uses will create the first oral habit and will cause difficulty to adapt to other types of pacifiers. The buccal cavity, as the rest of the childs body is in an accelerated growth process and development. The traditional pacifiers don't present alterations that accompany the development (such as the eruption of the deciduous teeth) of the buccal structures. It is known that one of the etiologic factors of bad dental occlusion and the deformation of the facial bones, mainly maxillaries and jaw, it is the use of the pacifier as a noxious habit. The conventional pacifiers present a rigid support for the lips, that can obstruct the correct movement of the lips. The union arm is not adjustable and it presents an exaggerated diameter, forcing the musculature of the lips. They don't have a guide that stimulates the correct positioning of the arcades. The tip of the pacifier presses the toungue into an incorrect position and when the child sucks the pacifier, forcing the tip of the pacifier against the palate, it can provoke alterations of the teeth-alveolar structure due to the prolonged use. In agreement with the illustrations and in its details, the "DENTOFACIAL DEVICE" in subject (1 ), is constituted of a ring (2) for fixation and adjustment, possessing a hole (3) and a restraint system (4) placed in the extremities of the ring (2-A, 2-B) to readjust the length of the union arm (5) that unites the ring (2) and the labial support (6) with the dental arcade device (7) and' the toungue tip device (8); possessing the labial support (6) a "apple" type format with a superior extremity (6-A) and inferior (6-B) placed below the nasolabial fold (9) and sublabiale fold (10) with the borders (11 ) bent on the outside. Dental arcade device(7) has a biconcave format, to position the superior(12) and inferior (13) dental arcades. The tongue tip device (8) is a structure in the form of "shell" with the function of pushing the tongue in the correct position, possessing a superior part (8-A) with the saliency (14) on the lingual side, and an inferior part (8-B) bipartite, possessing a rift (15) in its inferior border (16) for accommodation of the lingual brake, presenting two smaller saliencies (17 and 18) in the inferior ends, stimulating the correct positioning of the jaw (19). For the advantages that it offers and for it's truly innovativing characteristics. The "DENTOFACIAL DEVICE" therefore has the necessary conditions to deserve the privilege of an invention patent.
