Abstract

Methods of preparing gas-filled or gas precursor-filled microbubbles with attached ICAM-binding molecules are described. Gas-filled microbubbles conjugated to anti-ICAM antibodies or other ICAM-binding molecules are useful, for example, in ultrasonic imaging of vascular endothelial cell dysfunction, and in therapeutic drug delivery or gene therapy directed to dysfunctioning endothelial cells.
