Abstract

This model is formed with an upper cover (4), and another lower one, divided into two parts (1) and (2), joined through the pressure rings (3) and (5) along their ridges, which altogether form a container in a hamburger type sandwich shape. This napkin-like container will have variations in its shape, when their integrating parts are taken out as the hamburger sandwich is being consumed, thus discarding the traditional napkin and wrapping. It is going to be made of paper or flexible plastic.

NAPKIN-LIKE SANDWICH CONTAINER

The present patent request refers to a new sandwich container, hamburger type, hereby called Napkin-like Container.

The Napkin-like Container has as the main features: its form, structure 5 and the material it is made of. Its initial form is the same as the hamburger itself. As the sandwich is being eaten, the container structure gets transformed into various shapes as its parts are disposed of. The container is going to be made of flexible plastic or paper, which will permit a more comfortable manipulation of the sandwich as it is being consumed.

I O The first advantage of this Napkin-like Container is related to its initial shape: it permits the sandwich to be given to the consumer inside a tight wrapping, thus avoiding the discomfort it provides at the beginning of consumption, due to the sandwich size and making in separable parts. The way it is served today, the consumer has a direct contact with these parts, that is, a direct contact with sauces,

15 fats, vegetables and others, due to the unsatisfactory protection the traditional napkins provide. Besides that, the sandwich loses its shape with its parts disarranged when manipulated because they are not wrapped in a tight container. Thus, besides being more comfortable to the consumer, the container is more hygienic.

20 The second advantage comes from the sandwich consumption itself, for, as the sandwich size reduces, the Container will also reduce its size when its integrating parts are discarded, and the remaining parts work as a napkin.

This Napkin-like Container will be adequate and used in any hamburger type sandwich stand, as a substitute for the traditional napkins and wrapping. To exemplify, without limitating, figures 1 to 9 are included. Figure 1 shows a side view of the lower cover (1 ); figure 2 represents a side view of the lower cover (2); figure 3 shows a detailed view of the pressure ring (5); in figure 6 we have a general view of the whole Container; figure 7 represents a front view of the lower cover (2); figure 8 shows a front view of the lower cover (1); and, finally, figure 9 shows a front view of the upper cover (4).

To mount the Container, we first join the lower covers (1) and (2), by joining the pressure rings (3) along their ridges. Next, we join the upper cover (4), on top of the lower covers (1) and (2) by pressing the rings (5) along their ridges, then presenting the form of a hamburger type sandwich. As the consumer gets the wrapped sandwich, he pulls up the upper cover

(4), while holding the lower covers (1) and (2), which permits the consumption of the exposed upper half of the sandwich. To eat the lower part, the consumer will hold the lower cover (2) and take out lower cover (1) to the side, to uncover a quarter of the sandwich. To finish eating the sandwich, the consumer will hold its lower cover (2) which has the shape of a napkin.

The size of the Containers will vary according to the various hamburger sizes on themarket.
