Abstract

L'invention concerne une coquille extérieure (1) d'une endoprothèse de l'articulation de la hanche, qui se présente sous la forme d'une coquille sensiblement hémisphérique comportant une surface extérieure (1a) et une surface intérieure (1b) adaptée pour loger une coquille intérieure. La surface extérieure (1a) est définie, au moins sur une section partielle (1g), par une génératrice présentant un rayon constant (R) et tournant autour d'un axe de symétrie (A), dont l'origine (1e) est placée sur un cercle (1h) s'étendant concentriquement et transversalement par rapport à l'axe de symétrie (A) de la coquille extérieure (1), qui se trouve dans la zone du plan équatorial (1d), le prolongement de cette génératrice (R) passant par l'axe de symétrie (A).
