Abstract

Un système de commande d'écran c.a. à plasma a été mis au point qui améliore les caractéristiques d'exploitation d'un tel l'écran, à savoir un rendement élevé, la luminance accrue et la faible tension de fonctionnement. De surcroît, il ne nécessite pas d'aménagements complexes, encombrants ou coûteux. Dans le système proposé est prévue la fourniture d'une tension sustentrice haute fréquence aux électrodes des piles, l'amplitude d'oscillations des électrons en décharge étant inférieure à l'espace de décharge. On peut ainsi maintenir dans les piles de l'écran une décharge haute fréquence se caractérisant par de faibles pertes et par un régime quasi-stationnaire, d'où un rendement élevé et une luminance accrue de l'écran. Ce système offre en outre la possibilité d'utiliser pour l'extinction sélective des piles les impulsions d'extinction de faible amplitude, dont la grandeur est déterminée par la désintégration du plasma dans le gaz.
