Abstract

L'invention concerne un nouveau modèle de police, obtenu en fonction de paramètres, caractéristiques et contraintes. Ce modèle peut supporter des comportements dynamiques non linéaires et complexes de formes de lettre et permet à des utilisateurs de polices de modifier de façon dynamique le comportement des lettres grâce à une manipulation de paramètres extérieurs. Les lettres conservent leurs caractéristiques typographiques lors du comportement dynamique. Le mécanisme de contraintes internes peut supporter des états de contrainte, aux fins de manipulation en continu de changements topologiques. Les contraintes et caractéristiques sont présentes dans le modèle de police lui-même. Ce modèle de police est mis en oeuvre à l'aide de caractéristiques et de contraintes paramétrées. L'algorithme d'évaluation des contraintes fonctionne en temps linéaire, dans la dimension d'un glyphe, et garantit l'obtention d'une solution unique. Des contraintes sont représentés au moyen d'un type nouveau et spécial de graphe de contraintes, à savoir un graphe à rapport mélangé, lequel peut faire face à la plupart des cycles de contraintes du type survenant dans le domaine des polices. En outre, un nouvel automate fini de contraintes permet de modifier la topologie sous-jacente de la forme lors d'un comportement dynamique.
