Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for suctioning and collecting bone particles such as bone meal and drilling chips from the cooling or rinsing liquid in dental work in implantology and in the field of bone regeneration in periodontology.
 - a device for suctioning bone and metal chips in dental work which consists of a suction pipe and a filter housing with a suction hose connection.
 - a filter for collecting the bone chips and a check valve are arranged in the housing.
 - An adjustable throttle valve is provided between them.
 - a movable emptying piston for dispensing the collected chips is also arranged inside the housing.
 - DE GM 86 09 630 discloses a device for collecting drilling dust from the rinsing water during operations on the bony skeleton, in particular on the head, in which a bone meal filter is arranged in the housing.
 - the housing consists of two interconnected cylindrical halves and is provided with two connecting pieces which are connected to a switchable bypass line running parallel to the flushing water line.
 - the bone filter is designed as a reinforced network and can be removed from the housing. It consists of polymeric material and has variable pore sizes.
 - the disadvantage of this device is the uneven deposition of the captured bone particles in the filter, which results in an uneven flushing.
 - the uneven layer also complicates further processing.
 - a "bone all” is also known from a brochure from S & W DENTAL-MED, 47441 Moers.
 - This device consists of an aluminum housing acting as a handle with a suction hose.
 - the housing is provided with a sealing cap with a surgical suction device.
 - Inside the housing there is a collecting sieve (filter insert) for autologous bone material.
 - the filter sieve is made of sterilizable plastic and can be used several times.
 - This device has several disadvantages. This way, corrosion particles of the aluminum housing with the augmentate can easily get into the operating room there is the problem of multiple use of a plastic sieve (cleaning almost impossible) Furthermore, edges and grooves as well as the difficult to access inner seal cause problems during cleaning.
 - the invention has for its object the disadvantages of Eliminate the prior art and to create a further device for suction and collection of bone particles such as bone meal and bone chips, which enables a uniform precipitation of the filtrate on the sieve surface of the filter.
 - a conical inlet opening merges into a dome-shaped cavity of the upper part at a sharp-edged transition. This is followed by a funnel-shaped cavity in the lower part.
 - a filter screen is arranged between the cavities.
 - the upper part is provided with a collar that receives an O-ring.
 - the lower part is provided with a recess with a wall and with a connecting piece for a hose.
 - the collar, the O-ring and the wall form the housing lock in which the filter screen is locked.
 - the upper part and the lower part are made of pure titanium.
 - the filter screens are graduated in degree of fineness.
 - the filter screen is welded to an edge.
 - the suction cannula is fastened in an adapter of the upper part, which is provided with different inlet openings.
 - the invention essentially consists of a suction cannula 1, an adapter 7, a housing with the upper part 2, the lower part 4 and a filter screen 3.
 - the upper part 2 is a rotationally symmetrical rotating part with a collar 2a, which has an annular groove for an O-ring 5 is provided.
 - a slightly conical inlet opening 2b leads over a sharp-edged transition 2c into a dome-like cavity 2d, which is delimited from the funnel-shaped cavity 4b of the likewise rotationally symmetrical lower part 4 by a filter screen 3.
 - the filter screen 3 is made of sterilizable plastic and welded to a reinforcing edge.
 - Filter sieves 3 with different pore openings that is to say different fineness, can be used, for example those with pore openings of approximately 100-300 ⁇ m. Due to the high demands on sterility and purity, filter screens 3 are used as single-use items.
 - the lower part 4 is provided with a recess, as a result of which the wall 4a is provided with a system 4d for the filter screen 3.
 - the cavity 4b opens into a connecting piece 4c for a hose 6 of a treatment unit with suction device, not shown.
 - Upper part 2 and lower part 4 are connected to one another by pushing the wall 4a over the collar 2a and thus compressing the O-ring 5.
 - the filter screen 3 is locked in an annular groove by the end face of the collar 2a and the system 4d.
 - These elements form the closure of the housing of the device made of highly resistant pure titanium.
 - an adapter 7, preferably made of plastic, with its likewise conical approach is received in the inlet opening 2b.
 - the adapter 7 is provided with different-sized bores for receiving all known suction cannulas 1.
 - These can be made of metal or plastic. All components of the device can be sterilized. It is ergonomically designed as a handle.
 - the device is connected to a treatment device, not shown, with a suction connection.
 - Bone meal or Bone chips arise in the treatment area through the use of medical devices with a material-removing effect such as sawing, milling, drilling, etc., e.g. in dental implantology, for example after cavity preparation for implants or in the targeted removal of bone for augmentation and in the area of bone regeneration in periodontology . Augmentation with autologous material should always have priority.
 - the suction cannula 1 is brought into the operating area so that the bone material (bone meal, bone chips) in a cooling or rinsing liquid is sucked through the conical inlet opening 2b and fluidically swirled at the sharp-edged transition 2c in the dome-shaped cavity 2d.
 - the invention is used commercially in dental work in implantology and in the field of bone regeneration in periodontology in conjunction with other medical devices.
