Abstract

A method of monitoring the reactivity of thyroid peroxidase (TPO) autoantibodies (Abs) in order to distinguish between disease-related and unrelated TPO Abs which method comprises: (a) labelling modified TPO prepared using expressed TPO genes containing truncations and/or deletions; and (b) monitoring reactivity of the labelled modified TPO with TPO autoantibodies present in a body fluid from a patient.
