  • the profile of bead 17 occasioned by surfaces 18 and 19 is intended to permit teeth 7 to be urged down ramped portion 18 over the bead during the initial running up of the closure and tamper band onto the container.
  • the chamfered surface 10 of the teeth 7 also assists this motion despite the fact that the inner extremities 11 of teeth 7 extend radially inwardly to a position radially inward of the radially outermost extremity 20 of bead 17.
  • closures of over forty-five millimetres diameter and particularly those of approximately seventy millimetres diameter it has been found that there is usually sufficient elasticity in the closure, tamper band and internally directed protrusion such that the tamper band protrusion or protrusions may be worked up over the bead on the container without separation of the tamper evident band from the closure thereby defeating the tamper evident feature.

Abstract

Cette invention se rapporte à une fermeture thermoplastique du type comportant une jupe à filetage interne (2) partant d'un disque de fermeture étanche supérieur (1), ainsi qu'une bande d'ouverture annulaire indicatrice d'effraction (6) fixée à la fermeture à proximité adjacente de l'extrémité inférieure de la jupe par un moyen d'assemblage cassable (5). Des dents dirigées radialement vers l'intérieur (7) situées sur la bande d'ouverture indicatrice d'effraction coopèrent avec une nervure annulaire dirigée vers l'extérieur (17) située sur le goulot du récipient et également avec des dents dirigées radialement vers l'extérieur (12) situées sur le col se trouvant sous la nervure. L'interaction entre les dents (7) situées sur la bande d'ouverture indicatrice d'effraction et les dents (12) situées sur le récipient est telle que, lors de l'installation de la fermeture sur le récipient, ces dents se chevauchent rapidement, facilitant ainsi l'installation complète de la fermeture sur le récipient. L'interaction des dents lors du dévissage de la fermeture du récipient empêche toute rotation de la fermeture par rapport au récipient, de sorte que toute tentative ultérieure de rotation relative entre la fermeture et le récipient entraîne la cassure du moyen d'assemblage cassable entre la bande d'ouverture indicatrice d'effraction et la fermeture. Les profils des dents (7) situées sur la bande indicatrice d'effraction et de la nervure (17) située sur le récipients sont telles que les dents (7) chevauchent immédiatement la nervure (17) lors du mouvement axial de la fermeture par rapport au récipient dans la direction nécessaire à l'installation de la fermeture sur le récipient, mais ces profils se gênent les uns les autres lors de toute tentative de retrait de la fermeture du récipient, de sorte que, après cassure du moyen d'assemblage cassable en raison du mouvement de rotation, la bande d'ouverture indicatrice d'effraction ne peut pas se déplacer axialement vers le haut par rapport au récipient mais reste plutôt captive autour du col du récipient.
