Abstract

An instrument used for endoscopic interventions has a shaft with two pliers at its distal end which can be independently actuated by actuating elements and which can swivel around an axis that is at least approximately perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the instrument, and at least one further channel. The instrument is characterised by a combination of the following features: both pliers can independently swivel around parallel swivelling axes so that their mutual distance in the direction of the transverse axis of the instrument can be altered; the distal outlet of a continuous channel is provided between both pliers and designed to receive a surgical instrument that co-operates with the jaws of both pliers.

Claims
