Description
STEERABLE SLEDGE
The object of the invention is a turning sledge for sports and recreation use.
Normal sledge recreation and sports use is equipped with two unmoving skids, on which a seat for a luger is fixed. A sledge with two skids, where each skid is divided in the middle and joint in a rotary way, which enables twisting, is also known. Use of sledges according to known constructions is limited because such sledges can only be used on hard surface of packed snow. The sledge turning according to the invention, equipped with a flat- bottomed seat and grips for steering, is characterised by the fact that the seat has at its bottom part an appropriate recess in which a moving and if possible round steering shield is fixed in a rotary way, which is joint with steering grips and equipped with runners at the bottom part. The seat is equipped at the rear end with unmoving runners at the bottom. The sledge turning according to the invention can have, at the appropriate recess at the bottom of the seat, two moving, rotary, round shields, where the steering shield is joint with the steering grips and with the cooperating shield through the transfer-rotation-mechanism. The two shields are equipped with the runners at the bottom part. The sledge, according to the invention
can also have a flat seat, onto which turning shields in the form close to the rectangle are fixed in a moving way at the bottom part. The steering shield is joint with the steering grips and with the co-operating shield through the transfer-rotation-mechanism. The two shields are equipped with the runners at the bottom. Transfer of rotation from the steering shield to the co-operating shields is achieved through the toothed pad fixed permanently to the two sides of the shields or through the toothed wheel co-operating with a partially toothed circuit of the two shields, or through ways with pins fixed to the two shields. The turning effect, according to the invention, is achieved thanks to the runners present at the bottom part of the rotary shields or the unmoving part of the seat.
The construction of the sledges, according to the invention, and particularly the flat seat with the shields equipped with the runners, assures that the sledge can be used on every kind of snow, even on a thick, flaky, unleveled surface without dropping independently because of the load. The steering machanism of the sledge, and particularly the runner of the rotary shields or on the unmoving part of the seat, enable easy and quick turnings, which decides about their usefulness. Because of its flat construction and small weight the sledge, according to the invention, is easy to store and transport.
The object of the invention is represented in the picture where the figure 1 represents the sledge and the steering grips from the top, the figure 2 represents the end view, the figure 3 represents the transverse cut-see from the side with visible runners, the figure 4 represents the sledge form the bottom with the visible steering shield and the unmoving runners at the rear end of the seat, the figure 5
represents the sledge form the bottom with two rotary shields equipped with the runners, the figure 6 represents the transfer- rotation -mechanism through the toothed pad, the figure 7 represents the second version of the machanism of rotation through the slide elements, the figure 8 represents another version of the mechanism of rotation through two toothed wheels/ the figure 9 represents the sledge form the bottom with visible rectangular shields, and the figure 10 represents the traverse cut-see with rectangular shields.
The sledge, according to the invention, is equipped with a flat-bottomed seat _1_ and grips for steering 2_ which are equipped with strings 3_. The seat has at is bottom part 1_ an appropriate recess _ in which, according to the version, a steering shield 5 with runners 6_ are fixed at the bottom part of the seat _1_ or has the second co-operating shield 1_. The steering shield 5_ as well as the co-opera- ting shield 1_ are equipped with the parallel runners 8_. The steering shield 5_ and the co-operating shield 1_ are equipped with toothed elements 9_ and 1Q_ the aim of which is to transfer the rotation, or the appropriate steering shield 5_ is equipped with a flat, permanently fixed guide _11_ with the recess Yl_ and the co-operating shield 1_ is equipped permanently fixed full guide _13_ with pins _14_. Transfer of rotation from the steering shield 5_ to the co-operating shield 1_ can be also achieved through the toothed wheels _15_ and _16_ co-operating with a partially toothed circuit \J_ of the steering shield 5_ and with a partially toothed circuit JL8_ of the co-operating shield 7_. Another version of the sledge consists of a flat seat _19_ with rotary shield 20 in the form close to the rectangle with curved head and the co-operating shield 2J also in the form close to the rectangle. The two shields are equipped with the rotation-transfer-mecha-
nism in the form of the guide _11_ with the recess 12, the full guide 13 with the pins _. The unmoving runner 6_ fixed at the bottom rear end of the seat 1_ as well as the runners 8_ fixed on the shields 5_ and 7_ and the shields ^fj and 2Λ_ have the form of appropriately shaped rectangular flat bars.
A person on the sledge according to the invention can turn with the help of the grips 2_ with the strings 3_ which are joint with the steering shield 5_ or the steering shield 20_. The steering shield 5_ or the steering shield 2 , according to the angle of the turn achieved through the grips 2_ and trough the transfer of rotation mechanism according to the type of the sledge, achieved through the toothed elements 9_ and 1Q_ or guides _11_ and 13 with pins _14_ or the toothed wheels _15_ and 1J5 with teeth 11_ and J3 and through the runners 8_ make the sledge turn and slide at the chosen direction. The sledge equipped only with the steering shield 5_ with the runners 8^ and the unmoving runners 6 also turn at the chosen direction.
