Abstract

A full text index (107) of a set (101) of electronic documents and a feature index (103) concerning predetermined features for arranging search results are prepared in advance. When a search request from a user is received, a search word is retrieved by using the full text index, and a feature for arranging designated search results is retrieved by using the feature index. Thus, when a character string expressing the inputted feature resembling the search word appears, a text including the character string expressing the feature is displayed as a search result (110). Thus, information desired by the user may be retrieved more directly.
