Nachteilig an dieser Losung ist, daß die Naht auf Grund einer lokalen Anhäufung von Stichen kein optimales Aussehen besitzt und daß die das Nähgut manipulierenden Elemente sowie der Mechanismus zum Antrieb derselben im unmittelbaren Bereich der Stichbildung untergebracht sind, so ) daß zur Losung der damit verbundenen Bauraumprobleme ebenfalls ein betrachtlicher mechanischer Aufwand betrieben werden muß. Darüber hinaus hat die erfindungsgemaße Vorrichtung den Vorteil, daß die Sicherung des Nahtendes erst nach erfolgter Fertigstellung der Naht erfolgt und daher nicht am Ort der Nahtbildung, also im Bereich der Nahwerkzeuge der Nahmaschi- ne erfolgen muß.
