Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a tobacco smoking device according to the preamble of claim 1.
Tobacco smoking is considered to be one of the major health problems of our time, particularly because of the high cancer risk that results from the carcinogenic substances in tobacco tar that are produced during tobacco combustion. It is difficult for many smokers to quit smoking because they have become addicted to nicotine. The withdrawal symptoms that occur in heavy smokers when they stop smoking can in turn lead to serious psychosomatic and psychological problems. There are, for example, chewing tobacco, snuff and chewing gum which contain nicotine and can thus make it easier for the nicotine-addicted smoker to get used to smoking. However, numerous smokers cannot accept the replacement of their smoking habits and the waiving of the flavoring substances in tobacco smoke by such nicotine-containing surrogates.
The object of the invention is therefore to provide to habitual smokers a device for smoking tobacco which on the one hand develops tobacco smoke with the usual aromatic substances and which together with nicotine supplies the smoker, but on the other hand prevents carcinogenic substances from being supplied to the smoker.
This is achieved according to the invention with a device for tobacco smoking, which has an air-permeable nicotine-containing material in the air flow path between a first chamber for receiving the tobacco to be burned at the air inlet of the device and the mouth end of the device which can be inserted into the mouth and from which the hot one Smoke from the tobacco burned in the first chamber releases nicotine and which, however, absorbs the tar produced during the combustion of the tobacco and thus the carcinogenic substances. In order to be able to replace the air-permeable material when its nicotine content has become too low and / or its tar content has become too high, it is received in a second chamber which is accessible from the outside, so that the used material can easily be replaced by new material can.
When the tobacco is burned, on the one hand the aroma substances in tobacco smoke and on the other hand the tar with the carcinogenic substances are produced. While in the device according to the invention the more volatile aroma substances can pass through the air-permeable material and thus get into the mouth of the smoker, the more volatile carcinogenic substances contained in the tar produced during the combustion are absorbed by the air-permeable material ¬ beer. In order to ensure that the smoker is given the nicotine that he needs as an addict so that he does not experience any withdrawal symptoms, this material contains nicotine according to the invention. The nicotine in the material of the second chamber is released by the smoke heated by the embers of the burning tobacco in the first chamber. The evaporation process of the nicotine is thus accomplished by the high temperature generated during the combustion (radiation, hot conduction). On the one hand, smokers are supplied with the usual flavoring substances and, on the other hand, nicotine, but not carcinogenic substances.
This air-permeable nicotine-containing material can in turn be tobacco. Due to the moisture in the tobacco and the smoke heated by the embers of the burning tobacco in the first chamber, which flows through the tobacco in the second chamber, the nicotine contained therein is partially released and thus supplied to the smoker.
The device according to the invention can be produced in particular in two versions. According to one embodiment, it is designed as a pipe, a housing being arranged on the mouth of the pipe bore in the pipe head and filled with the material that emits the nicotine and absorbs the carcinogenic substances. An annular space is arranged around this housing and forms the chamber for receiving the tobacco. In order that the tobacco smoke generated in this annular space can penetrate into the material that releases the nicotine and absorbs the carcinogenic substances, entry openings for the tobacco smoke are provided in the peripheral wall of the housing.
According to the second preferred embodiment, the device is designed in the form of a cigarette holder, a cylindrical section being provided at the air inlet of the device, into which a cigarette can be inserted, while the chamber for receiving the nicotine-releasing and carcinogenic substances absorbent material is arranged downstream of the cigarette, and preferably parallel to the cylindrical portion with the inserted cigarette.
Darin zeigen:Two exemplary embodiments of the device according to the invention are explained in more detail by way of example with reference to the drawing. In it show:
Fig. 1 einen Querschnitt durch eine erste Ausfuhrungsform des Geräts in Form einer Pfeife;1 shows a cross section through a first embodiment of the device in the form of a pipe.
Fig. 2 eine teilweise langsgeschnittene Draufsicht auf eine zweite Ausfuhrungsform in Form einer Zigarettenspitze; undFIG. 2 shows a top view, partially in section, of a second embodiment in the form of a cigarette holder; and
Fig. 3 einen Querschnitt entlang der Linie III-III in Fig. 2.3 shows a cross section along the line III-III in FIG. 2.
According to FIG. 1, the pipe 1 in the pipe head 2 has a housing 3, which is arranged on the pipe bore 4.
The peripheral wall of the housing 3 is provided with air inlet openings 5 at least in the lower region. The housing 3 is filled with an air-permeable material, not shown, which absorbs carcinogenic substances produced when tobacco is burned and, when heated tobacco smoke flows through it, releases nicotine. The housing 3 can be closed with a cover designed, for example, as a hinged cover 6. It is provided with a screw thread 3 'which can be screwed into the pipe bore 4. If the Ge ¬ housing 3 is unscrewed, the bore 4 can be cleaned.
Bei der Ausfuhrungsform nach Fig. 2 und 3 ist das Gerat alsAn annular space 7 extends around the housing 3 and forms a chamber for receiving the tobacco which the smoker ignites when he smokes the pipe 1. The bore 4 leads to the mouth end 8 of the pipe 1. To an uncontrolled exclude too high temperature of the material in the housing 3 by the heat of the burning tobacco in the annulus 7, the peripheral wall can be double-walled det of the housing 3 ausgebil ¬ or a bad thermally conductive material, such as ceramics. 2 and 3, the device is as
Zigarettenspitze ausgebildet. Cigarette holder trained. In this case, a tube section is provided which forms a cylindrical chamber 9 into which a cigarette 10, for example a filter cigarette, is inserted. Apart from the end section 11 with the mouthpiece of the cigarette 10, the cylindrical chamber 9 is provided with air passage openings 12. The chamber 9 can also be only a short nozzle for inserting the cigarette 10. A tube 13 extends parallel to the first chamber 9 and has a second chamber 14, which receives an air-permeable cartridge 15 with an air-permeable material, which absorbs the carcinogenic substances produced when the cigarette 10 is burned, but entrains nicotine ¬ stop it then releases. The cartridge 15 can in turn be formed by a cigarette.
Between the tube 9 for receiving the cigarette 10 and the tube 13 with the cartridge 15, a channel 16 is provided which connects the air outlet 17 of the tube 9 with the cigarette 10 to the air inlet 18 of the tube 13 with the cartridge 15.
Eine Bohrung 20 verbindet den Lufteinlaß 21 in dem Mundstuck 19 mit dessen Luftauslaß 26.The air outlet 17 is provided on the end facing the mouth end 19 of the cigarette holder in the tube 9 and the air inlet 18 in the tube 13 on the end of the tube 13 facing away from the mouth end 19. A bore 20 connects the air inlet 21 in the mouthpiece 19 with its air outlet 26.
