Abstract

L'invention se rapporte au domaine de l'ingénierie des systèmes d'armes et notamment à la conception des canons pour armes à feu aussi bien à canon lisse qu'à canon rayé, et trouve application dans la fabrication des armes à feu pour l'artillerie, le tir et les combats rapprochés. On obtient, comme résultat technique, une augmentation de l'énergie cinétique et de la vitesse initiale du projectile ou de la balle tiré(e), et une réduction de l'énergie nécessaire à la propulsion du projectile ou de la balle jusqu'à la vitesse initiale voulue. Des cavités ou rainures sous forme de tuyères de Laval ou d'une cavité hélicoïdale sont prévues dans l'âme du canon, dans le cas où le canon doit servir de canon d'artillerie ou de tir. Dans le cas des armes pour combats rapproché, le choix de la forme de ces cavités ou rainures est indifférent. Un canon de ce type permet de limiter les fuites de gaz propulseurs dues au jeu entre le projectile ou la balle et les parois de l'âme du canon, et donc leur accumulation devant le projectile ou la balle. Ceci permet de réduire la condensation des gaz présents dans l'âme du canon devant le projectile ou la balle, et augmente le rendement de la transformation de l'énergie chimique de la charge de poudre en énergie cinétique du projectile ou de la balle, tout en réduisant l'énergie nécessaire à la propulsion du projectile jusqu'à la vitesse initiale voulue, ou en augmentant la vitesse de la balle ou du projectile dans le canon jusqu'à une valeur comprise entre 1500 et 4000 m/sec.
