Abstract

Process and device for the lowering and raising of a ship's boat (25) from the deck (4) of a ship especially during navigation and under sea-wave conditions. The ship's boat (25) is guided horizontally while it is being raised or lowered by a lifting device as well as during its travel near the ship until it is fastened to or released from the lifting device. The device includes a deck crane which has a pivotable articulated boom (1) fixed to the ship's deck, along which is guided a hoisting cable (2) which can be wound onto or unwound from a hoisting winch (39) for raising or lowering the ship's boat, and which has at least a first boom part (7) with a long boom tip part (8) pivotably mounted on it which carries a stabilizing device for the ship's boat that can be pressed against or removed from the ship's boat and at the free end of which there is a guidance device (30) for the hoisting cable (2) through which the hoisting cable exits from the boom tip part (8).
