Abstract

A display panel with a device (28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33) for positioning and removing posters to be displayed on the panel is disclosed. The panel comprises a supporting frame, a box-shaped housing supported on the frame and provided with at least one window on at least one side, and drive means for translating poster bearing means including guide, deflector and return rollers (21) having vertical axes (20) and providing horizontal scrolling of the posters such that the or each poster may be seen through the or each window that is parallel thereto.

Description

 Display panel having a device for placing and removing posters

The invention relates to a display panel having a device for placing and removing posters intended for the panel.

It also relates to a poster specially intended for such a panel; and a method of placing and removing such posters on, respectively, such a display panel.

There are already known type display panels comprising a support frame; a box-shaped casing carried by the support frame, having at least one window on at least one of its two large faces and containing support means for at least one poster, arranged so that one or more posters can be visible through the window or windows which are parallel and close thereto.

Reference may be made, for example, to documents FR-A-2 699 718 and FR-A-2 703 176.

According to these documents, the panel also comprises means for translational drive of the poster support means so as to ensure the continuous scrolling or not of the posters. This scrolling is horizontal.

We can also refer to the documents

FR-A-2 610 439, US-A-5 018 289 and US-A-5 138 781. One of the problems which arises in display panels of the type considered here is that of the placement and removal of the posters.

This problem is all the more crucial since the posters are large, removably fixed and intended to be scrolled, in particular horizontally.

To this end and according to a first aspect, the invention proposes a display panel of the type comprising:

- a support frame;

- A box-shaped casing carried by the frame having at least one window on at least one of its large faces and containing in the first place support means for at least one poster, in a removable manner, arranged so that the or the posters may be visible through the window or windows which are parallel to them, and, secondly, means for driving in translation the poster support means comprising guide rollers, deflection and return of vertical axes, arranged so ensuring the horizontal scrolling of the posters, the casing also containing at least one device for placing and removing the posters comprising:

- a vertical axis journal or a pair of coaxial journals carried by and pivotally mounted on the housing, accessible from the exterior of the housing and of the panel when the placement or removal of the posters is carried out, arranged to receive removably and drive in rotation a coaxial roller supporting the wound posters, extending substantially parallel and facing one of the guide, deflection and return rollers;

- And means for driving the or one of the trunnion in one direction or the other depending on whether the posters must be put in place or removed.

According to other characteristics, a journal is mounted on the housing so as to be able to be moved between two extreme positions, respectively inactive where it is retracted into the housing and active where it is located outside the housing.

In the inactive position, a pin is housed in the free space open laterally to the outside limited by the poster support means, the drive means and the posters themselves, defined by two guide rollers, deflection and return lateral, front and rear respectively and a median roller close to the horizontal axis of the housing belt.

In the active position, a journal is located near one of the two guide, deflection and return rollers, respectively front and rear.

The device for placing and removing posters also comprises means for detachably holding a pin in the active position.

A pin is pivotally carried on an arm plate itself carried by the casing so that it can be moved between two extreme positions corresponding to those respectively inactive and active of the pin. According to a first variant, the arm plate is mounted on the casing with vertical pivoting around an axis spaced from the journal.

According to a second variant, the arm plate is located on the horizontally sliding casing parallel to its large faces.

In one embodiment, the lower pin next to the lower horizontal wall of the belt comprises a transverse flange supporting the poster winding roller.

This pin or its flange comprises the means for setting in relative rotation relative to the poster winding roller cooperating with the complementary means of said roller such as a pin cooperating with a hole.

A pin is associated with torque limiting means or gentle rotation friction preventing untimely pivoting of said pin.

The means for rotating a trunnion are manual and / or motorized.

In particular, the drive means of a journal are motorized from a motor or geared motor belonging to the drive means in translation of the poster support means and of the posters themselves. In one embodiment, these means for driving a journal also include a drive member such as an endless chain driven into engagement on a pinion of the journal by the motor or gear motor. This member such as an endless chain is also engaged on a pinion of the guide roller, deflection and return near which the pin is located or on which the support plate is mounted.

According to a second aspect, the invention proposes a poster specially intended for a display panel as described. This poster is presented rolled on or so as to be mounted on a support roll.

According to a third aspect, the invention proposes a method of placing such a poster on such a display panel, in which:

- the pin (s) is brought to the active position,

- the poster support roller is positioned on the pin (s),

- we begin to unwind the poster from its support roll,

- the initial free transverse end portion of the poster is attached to the support means,

- the poster is driven so that it is unwound from the support roll and hung on the support means, - when the poster is fully attached to the support means and the free support roller, said support roller is removed from the journal,

the pin (s) is brought to the inactive position.

Finally, according to a fourth aspect, the invention proposes a method of removing such a poster from such a display panel, in which:

- the pin (s) is brought to the active position,

- a poster support roller is positioned on the pin (s),

- an end free end portion of the poster of the support means is unhooked and associated with the support roller,

- the poster is driven so that it is unhooked from the support means and wound on the support roller,

- when the poster is completely detached from the support means and the packed support roller, said support roller is removed from the journal,

the pin (s) is brought to the inactive position.

The invention relates to a display panel 1 intended to receive posters such as 2.

The panel 1 comprises a support frame 3 including a base 4, carrying a casing 5.

The housing 5 has a general box shape. It comprises firstly a belt 6 forming the edge of the casing 5 and, on either side, two large faces 7. One of (or both) large faces 7 has a window 8 provided with a protective glass.

Such a display panel 1 is intended to be placed with its base 4 vertical and the main plane of the casing 5, the large faces 7 and the windows 8 of which are parallel, vertical. This plan is referenced P.

The belt 6 has, for its part, a main axis passing through the large faces 7, arranged horizontally.

For reasons of convenience, the description is made with reference to a display panel 1 erected as just described.

It is with reference to this situation that qualifiers such as "horizontal" or "vertical" must be understood.

Furthermore, the display panel 1 is considered with respect to an observer placed opposite the window 8, or one of the windows 8 in the case where the panel 1 comprises two.

The qualifiers "front", "rear", "frontal", etc. refer to this situation.

However, it is understood that during its storage or for its assembly or even for its transport, the display panel 1 or its constituent elements can be placed or arranged in a position other than that mentioned previously. The display panel 1 also comprises means 9 for poster support 2, arranged so that the posters 2 are arranged vertically opposite the window 8.

The posters 2 placed on the display panel 1 are, in the embodiment considered, of square or rectangular outline, limited by an upper horizontal border 10, a lower horizontal border 11 and two lateral, vertical borders 12.

By border is meant here the area of poster 2 adjacent to its free outer edge.

A poster 2 thus comprises a main printed part 13, made of paper, therefore having a certain flexibility and capable of being deformed and more particularly rolled, rolled up or folded. Along three of its four free edges, the part 13 is provided with a strip 14, overlapping on the part 13 and secured to it, in particular by gluing.

The three strips 14 are intended, when the poster 2 is in place on the display panel 1, to form the borders 10, 11 and 12 respectively.

A strip 14 is produced according to the embodiment considered here in a flexible but inextensible plastic material and having a high resistance.

The bands 14 forming the edges 10, 11, 12 are provided with eyelets 15 regularly arranged along their length. In the embodiment considered, there are provided several posters 2 placed one beside the other, horizontally, but independent of each other. These posters 2 are all supported by the support means 9.

In this case, a poster 2 is located opposite window 8 while the other posters 2 are hidden from view with respect to this window 8. The panel 1 therefore also comprises drive means 16 of the support means 9 of so as to ensure the scrolling of the posters 2.

This scrolling is preferably discontinuous, that is to say that the drive means 16 are stopped for a certain time or the poster 2 facing window 8 can be seen by an observer. Then, the drive means 16 are active to change the poster and so on.

However, also falls within the scope of the invention the case where the posters 2 scroll continuously, the drive means 16 being arranged accordingly.

In the embodiment considered, the scrolling of the posters is horizontal.

In the embodiment considered, the support means 9 comprise in combination first means 9a and a pair of second means 9b.

The first means 9a maintain the poster 2 along its upper horizontal edge, that is to say at the location of the upper horizontal edge 10. O 97/24707 PC17FR96 / 02020

The second means 9b maintain the poster 2 along its two vertical edges, that is to say at the location of the vertical lateral edges 12.

The support means 9, 9a, 9b are arranged so that the poster 2 can be maintained without risk of untimely stalling, the support being nevertheless removable, when desired.

The first means 9a firstly comprise a support member 17, extended horizontally parallel to the posters 2 and to the border 10, being in the form of an endless chain or equivalent, also forming part of the drive means 16.

The endless chain 17 is slidably mounted in a guide member 18 and it is engaged with toothed pinions 19 mounted wedged on the axis 20 of guide rollers, deflection and return of the posters 2.

The pinions 19 are placed towards the upper free end part of the axes 20.

The axes 20 are arranged vertically.

In the embodiment under consideration, three pairs of rollers 21 are provided, namely a pair of front rollers 21a, a pair of rear rollers 21b), and a pair of middle rollers 21c.

The front rollers 21a are located near the window 8. The rear rollers 21b are located near the large face 7 opposite the window 8 considered.

As for the median rollers 21c, they are located in the vertical median plane of the panel 1.

The front rollers 21a and the rear rollers 21b are spaced apart and located near the vertical walls 6a of the belt 6.

The median rollers 21c are on the contrary spaced from these vertical walls 6a and close to the horizontal axis of the belt 6.

In case panel 1 has two windows

8 on both sides, the arrangement and symmetrical.

One of the rollers 21 has wedged on its axis a motor or geared motor. In addition, one of the rollers, in particular of the pair of median rollers 21c is mounted to be displaced horizontally parallel to the plane P so as to accommodate the differences in length or tension of the posters 2.

The first support means 9a then comprise a series of lugs 22 rigidly fixed and transverse to the chain 17. These lugs 22 are regularly spaced from one another. They are directed downwards.

At least part of the tabs 22 is provided frontly with studs 23, projecting and intended to pass through the eyelets 15 of the upper horizontal edge 10. The relative dimensions of the eyelets 15 and the studs 23 are such that their cooperation is made possible to allow the removability of the poster 2 but to prevent its untimely detachment.

The second means 9b comprise two sets

9ba, 9bb, similar, placed back to back, located close to one another, arranged parallel or substantially parallel to one another, connected to one another by one or more elastic members and flexible 24.

An assembly such as 9ba or 9bb is placed vertically with respect to the posters 2. It firstly comprises a support piece 25, rigid, taking the form of a flat iron or a profile. The support piece 25 is fixed to the chain 17 and to another support member 26 extending parallel to the chain 17 but located in the vicinity of the lower edge 11 of the poster 1.

The support member 26 may have the same general structure and shape as the chain 17. Its function is to carry the support pieces 25 in synchronism with the chain 17 so that the pieces 25 remain vertical, while being moved by the means of training 16.

Each set 9ba, 9bb then comprises a series of studs 27 fixed transversely, frontally and projecting from the support part 25, regularly spaced from one another, directed towards the window 8.

The two assemblies 9ba and 9bb are connected to one another by one or more elastic and flexible members 24 such as two flattened ribbons located at least towards the upper and lower end portions of the assemblies 9ba, 9bb.

For the installation of a poster 2 as just described, the window 8 of the panel is opened, which gives access to the support means 9, these being presumed to be free at this time. poster, one can set up a poster such as 2 by making the eyelets 15 of the edges 10, 11 and 12 cooperate with the studs 23 and 27, respectively.

This is done in three successive stages:

the positioning of the eyelets 15 corresponding to the vertical lateral border 12 situated upstream with respect to the direction of travel of the poster 2.

- Then, that of the eyelets 15 corresponding to the upper horizontal border 10 and that of the vertical lateral border 12 upstream to the vertical border 12 downstream.

- And, finally, the installation of the eyelets 15 corresponding to the downstream vertical lateral edge 12.

To remove a poster, we proceed in a similar but inverted manner: first the upstream side border then the upper horizontal border and finally the downstream side border.

The display panel also includes, enclosed in the casing, a device for placing and removing the posters 2. Indeed, these being or being able to be of large dimensions and presenting, naturally, a certain softness, it is difficult to handle them.

We will now describe this device more specifically.

A pin 28 with a vertical axis, parallel or substantially parallel to the axes 20 of the guide, deflection and return rollers 21 is pivotally mounted on the casing 5.

The pin 28 is pivotally carried on an arm plate 29, itself carried by the casing 5 so that it can be moved between two extreme positions corresponding to those of the pin 28 inactive and active respectively.

The amplitude of pivoting of the plate 29 between its two extreme positions and less than 180 °, and more particularly of the order of or less than 90 °.

In the inactive position, the pin 28 is housed in the free space open laterally to the outside limited by the poster support means 2, the drive means and the posters 2 themselves, defined by two guide rollers, lateral deflection and deflection, respectively front 21a, rear 21b and a median roller 21c close to the horizontal axis of the belt 6 of the casing 5. In the active position, the pin 28 is located near one of the two rollers 21, respectively front 21a and rear 21b.

In the active position, the pin 28 is capable of detachably receiving and driving in rotation a coaxial roller supporting the wound posters.

To this end, the pin 28 includes a transverse support flange 32 of the poster winding roller. The pin 28 or its flange 32 includes the centering means 31 and relative rotation setting 30 relative to the poster winding roller cooperating with the complementary means of said roller such as a pin cooperating with a hole.

The pin 28 is associated with torque limiting means 33 or soft rotation friction preventing the untimely pivoting of said pin.

Another pin (not shown) coaxial with pin 28 is carried by the upper horizontal wall of the belt 6 of the casing 5.

The two coaxial pins are connected to each other or are able to be moved synchronously between their two extreme positions.

The display panel may include removable means for holding a pin or the pair of coaxial pins in the active position.

In one embodiment, the pin carried by the upper horizontal wall of the belt 6 of the casing 5 is a hollow cylindrical part, such as a tube coaxial with pin 28.

The pin 28 is connected to the drive means 16 of the rollers 21 by means of an endless chain engaged with the pinion of the roller 21 near which the pin 28 is located.

To set up a poster 2, the following operations are carried out:

- a side door of the casing 5 is opened;

- the scrolling of the posters is stopped, if necessary, by means of a main control button;

the pin (s) is brought into the active position;

- The poster support roller is positioned on the pin (s);

- we begin to unwind the poster from its support roll;

- The initial free end transverse part of the poster 2 is attached to the support means 9;

the poster is driven in slow speed, lower than that of the scrolling of the poster when the display panel is in normal service, so that it is unwound from the support roller and attached to the support means 9. During this step, the pin 28 turns idly on its axis, the torque limiting means 33 being able to avoid any untimely pivoting of said pin. An operator's foot control (not shown) is arranged so as to ensure the slow start-up of the drive means 16 of the rollers 21 and therefore the controlled unwinding of the poster 2 from its support roller;

- When the poster 2 is completely attached to the support means 9 and the free support roller, said support roller is removed from the journal;

the pin (s) is brought into the inactive position;

- The drive means 16 are reset to normal by means of a main control button;

- the side door of the casing 5 is closed.

To remove a poster 2, perform the following operations:

- a side door of the casing 5 is opened;

- the scrolling of the posters 2 is stopped, if necessary, by means of a main control button;

the pin (s) is brought into the active position;

- the empty poster support roller is positioned on the pin (s); - the initial free end transverse part of the poster 2 is removed from the support means 9;

- Hanging said end portion to the poster support roller;

- By means of a control button, the means 16 are put into slow motion, opposite to that of the scrolling of the posters when the panel is in service. During this step, the pin 28 is driven in slow speed on its axis by the drive means 16. A foot control of the operator (not shown) is arranged so as to ensure the slow start of the means of drive 16 of the rollers 21 and therefore a controlled winding of the poster 2 on its support roller as the poster is detached from the support means 9;

- When the poster 2 is completely detached from the support means and the packed support roller, said support roller is removed from the journal;

the pin (s) is brought into the inactive position;

- The drive means 16 are reset to normal by means of a main control button;

- the side door of the casing 5 is closed.

The operator's foot control (not shown) allows the operator to start the drive means 16 at slow speed or step by step, so that it is possible to stop the normal scrolling of the posters at any time without preventing change or removal of a poster.

Indeed, the operator, by means of the foot control, will be able to correctly position a vertical border of the poster support means 9b with respect to the pins of the reel.

In addition, the operator will be free to set up or remove a poster, fully mastering the unfolding or winding of the posters on the support roller, by the foot control.

The operation which has just been described is not exclusive of others.

In particular, the trunnion arm plate can be located on the casing 5 with horizontal sliding relative to its large faces 7.

A pin can be either projecting by cooperating with the poster winding roller from the inside, or hollow by cooperating with said roller from the outside.

The means for driving a journal are manual and / or motorized, in the direction of removing the posters and / or in the direction of placing the posters.

The drive means can be motorized in both directions from the same motor or geared motor operating in one direction or the other, a control means making it possible to pass from one direction to the other. The drive means of a journal can be motorized from a motor or gearmotor belonging to the drive means in translation of the poster support means and the posters themselves.

The means for driving a journal can also include a drive member such as an endless chain driven into engagement with a pinion of the journal by the motor or the geared motor.

Furthermore, the display panel may include two reel devices as described above, located on each side of the panel.

Claims

1. Display panel of the type comprising: - a support frame (3), - A casing (5) in the form of a box carried by the frame (3) having at least one window (8) on at least one of its large faces (7) and containing in the first place support means for at least one poster (2), removably, arranged so that the poster (s) (2) can be visible through the window (s) (8) which is parallel to them, and, secondly, means for driving the means in translation poster support comprising guide rollers, deflection and return of vertical axes, arranged so as to ensure the horizontal scrolling of the posters, characterized by the fact that the casing (5) also contains at least one device for placing and removing the posters (2) comprising: - a pin (28) with a vertical axis or a pair of coaxial pins carried by and pivotally mounted on the casing (5), accessible from the outside of the casing (5) and of the panel (1) when the positioning or the removal of the posters (2) is carried out, arranged to detachably receive and drive in rotation a coaxial roller supporting the wound posters, extending substantially parallel and facing one of the guide, deflection and return rollers; - And means for driving the or one of the trunnion in one direction or the other depending on whether the posters must be put in place or removed. 2. Display panel according to claim 1 characterized in that a pin (28) is mounted on the housing (5) so as to be able to be moved between two extreme positions respectively inactive where it is retracted into the housing (5 ) and active where it is located outside the casing (5). 3. Display panel according to claim 2 characterized in that in the inactive position, a pin (28) is housed in the free space open laterally to the outside limited by the poster support means, the means d drive and the posters themselves, defined by two lateral guide, deflection and return rollers (21), respectively front (21a) and rear (21b) and a median roller (21c) close to the horizontal axis of the belt (6) of the housing (/ 5). 4. Display panel according to any one of claims 2 to 5 characterized in that a pin (28) is pivotally carried on an arm plate itself carried by the housing (5) so as to be able be moved between two extreme positions corresponding to those respectively inactive and active of the journal. 7. Display panel according to claim 6 characterized in that the arm plate is mounted on the vertically pivoted casing about an axis spaced from the pin (28). 8. Display panel according to claim 7 characterized in that the amplitude of pivoting of the plate between its two extreme positions is less than 180 ° and more especially of the order of or less than 90 °. 9. Display panel according to any one of claims 7 and 8 characterized in that the arm plate is mounted on the casing with vertical pivoting around the axis of a roller (21) for guiding, deflection and dismissal. 10. Display panel according to claim 9 characterized in that the plate-arm is located in the immediate vicinity of said roller (21) for guiding, deflecting and returning. 11. Display panel according to any one of claims 9 and 10 characterized in that said roller (21) for guiding, deflecting and returning is lateral and located near a vertical wall (6a) of the belt (6) of the housing (5). 12. Display panel according to claim 6 characterized in that the plate-arm is located on the casing (5) sliding horizontally parallel to its large faces (7). 13. Display panel according to any one of claims 1 to 12 characterized in that a pin (28) is adjacent to a lower or upper horizontal wall of the housing belt and carried by it directly or indirectly thanks to the support plate. 14. Display panel according to any one of claims 1 to 13 characterized in that the two support plates of the pair of coaxial pins are connected to each other to be moved synchronously between their two positions extremes. 15. Display panel according to any one of claims 1 to 14 characterized in that a pin is either projecting by cooperating with the poster winding roller from the inside, or hollow by cooperating with said roller from the outside. 16.Display panel according to any one of claims 1 to 15 characterized in that one of the pins of the pair of pins is projecting and the other hollow. 17.Display panel according to any one of claims 1 to 16 characterized in that the pin (28) lower adjacent to the lower horizontal wall of the belt ($) has a transverse flange (32) supporting the poster winding roller. 18.Display panel according to any one of claims 1 to 17 characterized in that a trunnion or its flange comprises the wedging means (30) in relative rotation relative to the winding roller of the posters cooperating with the complementary means of said roller such as a pin cooperating with a hole. 19.Display panel according to any one of claims 1 to 18 characterized in that a journal is associated with torque limiting means or gentle rotation friction preventing untimely pivoting of said journal. 20.Display panel according to any one of claims 1 to 19 characterized in that the means for driving the rotation of a journal are manual and / or motorized. 21. A method of removing a poster according to claim JL8 from a display panel according to any one of claims 1 to 27 in which: - the pin (s) is brought to the active position, - a poster support roller is positioned on the pin (s), - an end free end portion of the poster of the support means is unhooked and associated with the support roller, - the poster is driven so that it is unhooked from the support means and wound on the support roller, - when the poster is completely detached from the support means and the packed support roller, said support roller is removed from the journal, the pin (s) is brought to the inactive position.
