Abstract

Cette invention se rapporte au domaine des techniques nucléaires, notamment à la structure et aux techniques de production d'éléments combustibles. Cette invention a pour but d'accroître la solidité structurelle et la résistance à la corrosion de ces éléments. Cette invention consiste essentiellement en un élément combustible comprenant une enveloppe (1) remplie d'un combustible nucléaire et dans laquelle se trouvent des bouchons (2) insérés jusqu'à une certaine profondeur et soudés. La zone de soudure comporte une région (3) dont la structure métallique est modifiée sur la profondeur d'intégration des bouchons (2) qui va de 2 à 5 δ, et sur une épaisseur, du côté de la surface interne de l'enveloppe (1), ne dépassant pas 0,9 δ, δ représentant l'épaisseur de la paroi de l'enveloppe. Ce procédé consiste à fabriquer des bouchons (2) dont le diamètre extérieur est supérieur de 0,2 à 1,4 δ au diamètre intérieur de l'enveloppe (1), δ représentant l'épaisseur de la paroi de l'enveloppe (1), à fixer à une certaine profondeur l'enveloppe (1) dans l'élément de contact électrique (4), à comprimer l'enveloppe (1) avec le bouchon (2), puis à chauffer les pièces à souder par un courant électrique. Ce courant est réparti sur l'élément de contact électrique (4) et sur l'enveloppe (1) de manière que le courant passant dans une partie de l'enveloppe d'une longueur de 2,0 à 5 δ depuis son extrémité, représente de 0,3 à 0,9 du courant de soudure, la chaleur étant ensuite évacuée vers la surface externe de l'enveloppe (1). Le dispositif de l'invention comprend un élément de contact électrique annulaire (4) dont la partie entrant en contact avec la région située avant l'extrémité, se présente sous forme d'un ensemble de plaques (5) isolées électriquement et connectées entre elles par un pont électrique, et ceci en respectant les dimensions suivantes: chaque plaque (5) possède une épaisseur de 0,2 à 2 δ, δ représentant l'épaisseur de l'enveloppe (1), tandis que la partie d'assemblage de l'élément de contact électrique (4) le long de son axe d'ouverture possède une longueur de 2,5 à 6 δ. Ce système permet d'accroître la solidité de la structure ainsi que la résistance à la corrosion des ces éléments combustibles.
