The precoated kernels are then transferred from the apparatus 33 into a loading hopper 34, which feeds the kernels on at one end of the belt 30. A spreading roller 35 evenly distributes the kernels over the belt and they then pass to the popping station 36. In the region of the popping station 36, the steel belt is heated with gas burners 37 and this part of the belt is covered by an insulated cover 38.

Abstract

Cette invention concerne un appareil de production de pop-corn, lequel comporte un transporteur (14) et une unité de cuisson du pop-corn (13). Le transporteur (14) fait passer de manière continue des grains de maïs à travers l'unité de cuisson. Le procédé de cuisson continue pouvant être mis en oeuvre grâce à l'appareil décrit dans cette invention, permet de remplacer le processus de traitement discontinu classique, et permet de produire un pop-corn d'un grande qualité, et ceci en grandes quantités et de manière continue.
