Abstract

L'invention concerne un élément coupant qui possède un maximum de capacités de jaugeage et réduit au minimum les détériorations des éléments coupants provoquées par l'effort de traction. Les éléments coupants décrits dans la présente invention ont une forme asymétrique et peuvent adopter un profil coupant plus agressif que les éléments coupants traditionnels. Dans un premier mode de réalisation, on configure un élément coupant de manière à ce que l'angle interne entre la force d'attaque et la face d'usure soit inférieur à l'angle interne entre la force de fuite et la face d'usure. On peut obtenir le même effet si l'on munit l'élément coupant d'une face d'usure dégagée. Dans un deuxième mode de réalisation, les surfaces dudit élément sont curvilignes, les transitions entre les surfaces d'attaque et de fuite étant arrondies ou profilées. Ladite réalisation prévoit une transition d'attaque ayant une forme plus effilée que la transition de fuite; on obtient cet effet en configurant le dispositif de telle sorte que le rayon de courbure de la transition d'attaque soit inférieur au rayon de courbure de la transition de fuite. Dans un troisième mode de réalisation, l'élément coupant possède un bord de fuite chanfreiné qui permet d'obtenir une transition d'attaque de forme plus effilée que la transition de fuite. Dans un quatrième mode de réalisation, l'élément coupant possède un bord de fuite chanfreiné ou profilé, combiné à un flanc d'usure biseauté. Enfin, dans un dernier mode de réalisation, la face d'attaque de l'élément coupant possède un angle de coupe positif.
