Abstract

Cinq composants essentiels (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) permettent de coordonner les quatre temps du moteur en combinant la distribution des gaz et l'étanchéité dans la chambre de combustion avec le mouvement alternatif du piston. Un arbre rotatif de distribution (1) synchronisé avec le vilebrequin du moteur dispose d'orifices d'admission (8) et d'échappement (7) avec sorties dans la surfase sphérique (6), lesquels communiquent avec le cylindre lors des temps correspondants. Des orifices ne communiquant pas entre eux sont réalisés pour coïncider avec les prises d'admission et d'échappement à l'extérieur. Une douille de fermeture (2) en contact intermittent, coulissant et compensé sur la surface sphérique (6) ainsi qu'un ressort conique (3) permettent d'étanchéifier la chambre de combustion lors de la compression et de l'expansion, et conduisent à travers l'orifice (9) ménagé dans le corps inférieur (4) les gaz d'admission et d'échappement lors de chaque temps correspondant. Un corps inférieur (4) et un corps supérieur (5) logent tous les composants susmentionnés qui forment l'ensemble culasse.
