Abstract

A tubular body has four or more fold lines, of which two (1, 4) converge towards one end of the tubular body and the two remaining ones (2, 3) converge towards the other end thereof. Two side regions (11, 13) can be folded back against the inner surface of a third region (12). The dimensions of the fourth side region (14) are such that, when the body is folded, the said region readily fits between bounding fold lines (1, 4). When the tubular body is expanded, it undergoes maximum deformation, so that it remains stable both in the folded state and in the expanded state. The invention is useful for obtaining varying shapes, stabilising the body in its expanded state and making housings to be used as disposable vases, containers for liquids or creams, or boxes.

Description

Corps tubulaire pliable, et enveloppes, notamment boîte ou vase de fleurs jetable, munies d'un tel corps Foldable tubular body, and envelopes, in particular a disposable box or vase of flowers, provided with such a body

DESCRIPTION La présente invention concerne un corps tubulaire pliable, réalisé notamment en carton, et destiné par exemple à constituer la paroi latérale d'un étui.DESCRIPTION The present invention relates to a foldable tubular body, made in particular of cardboard, and intended for example to constitute the side wall of a case.

The present invention also relates to an envelope, container or case provided with such a body. The present invention applies in particular to the production of vases of flowers delivered folded, intended to be preserved or, on the contrary, discarded after use.

Many forms of folding case are known. They have the advantage of being able to be delivered in the folded state, therefore in a small volume, to the user.

Most of the time, such foldable cases have a determined geometric shape, most often parallelepiped. In addition, each folding principle is most often linked to a specific geometric shape or to a small family of such shapes, generally unattractive from an aesthetic point of view.

It has been imagined according to the invention to search for a folding principle which makes it possible to produce attractive and varied shapes, allowing fantasy and real aesthetic research. In particular, it has been imagined according to the invention to produce vases of. folding flowers, intended to be offered in the folded state together with a bouquet of flowers. This removes from the person receiving the bouquet the concern of finding, often difficult, a suitable vase to contain it.

The object of the present invention is thus to provide a foldable tubular body whose folding structure offers great freedom in the choice of the aesthetics of the tubular body in the set state. According to the invention, the foldable tubular body defining a first, a second, a third and a fourth successive lateral regions connected to each other by a first, a second, a third and fourth lines of articulation, is characterized in that the first, second and third lines of articulation make it possible, from the expanded state of the tubular body, to fold down the first and the third regions lateral overlapping against the inner face of the second region, and folding the inner face of the fourth region against that of the first region, in that the second and third lines of articulation, defining between them the second lateral region , or the two other articulation lines, converge towards one of the ends of the tubular body, in that the fourth articulation line is invertible so as to pass into the concave state until the outer face of the fourth region is folded down against that of the third region, and that the fourth region is sized to fit substantially without constraint between the first and the fourth lig nes of articulation when the first and third regions are folded in overlap against the second region.

This structure is extremely simple to produce since it suffices to give the tubular body four lines of articulation positioned particularly. It allows you to choose very freely the shape that the tubular body will have in the set volume state. This shape can be almost regular or, on the contrary, very irregular, depending on the positioning of the articulation lines. The transition from the set state to the folded state and vice versa is very easy. The minimum number of four articulation lines can be increased at will, each lateral region can itself be composed of several faces.

According to another aspect of the invention, an envelope comprises a tubular body according to the first aspect and means for closing at least one of the ends of the tubular body, so as to produce a box. It is also provided according to the invention that the envelope comprises such a tubular body and a sealed pocket connected to the inner periphery of the tubular body, for example in the vicinity of its upper end, so that the assembly constitutes a disposable vase of flowers.

According to another aspect of the invention, the envelope, still comprising the tubular body of the first aspect, is fixed around a flexible and / or deformable container for liquid or pasty substance.

Aux dessins annexés :It is also expected that the tubular body is directly part of the sealed container for liquid or pasty substance. In one case as in the other, the invention makes it possible to gradually remove the substance, such as toothpaste, condensed milk, cleaning products, etc., by gradually passing the body from the set state to the folded state. . It is thus very convenient to effectively exhaust the substance initially contained in the envelope. Other particularities and advantages of the invention will emerge from the description below, relating to nonlimiting examples. In the accompanying drawings:

As shown in Figure 3, the tubular body is made from a blank 21 in the form of a parallelogram connected on one side to a bonding tab 22. From this side to the opposite side of the parallelogram, it is subdivided into four regions 11, 12, 13, 14 which follow one another between a first articulation line 1 corresponding to the side of the parallelogram adjacent to the tongue 22, to the opposite side 23 of the parallelogram. The regions 11 to 14 are further separated from one another by a second, a third and a fourth articulation lines 2, 3 and 4 which each extend between the two other sides 24 and 26 of the parallelogram. Thus, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, once the tongue 22 is stuck to the region 14 so that the articulation line 1 is superimposed on the side 23 of the parallelogram, a deformable tube is formed having four lateral regions 11 to 14 succeeding each other along the periphery of the tubular body, being separated from each other by four articulation lines 1, 2, 3, 4 each extending from one end to the other of the tubular body without cutting each other . The sides 24 and 26 of the parallelogram then form the ends of the tubular body.

The deformability of the tubular body resides on the one hand in its articulated structure along the lines of articulation

I à 4, et d'autre part dans la flexibilité des régionsI to 4, and secondly in the flexibility of the regions

The articulation lines are for example obtained by weakening of material such as creasing of the cardboard, or reductions in thickness if the body is made of plastic. The second and third articulation lines 2 and 3, defining between them the second lateral region 12, converge towards one of the ends of the tubular body, namely the upper end 24 in the representation of FIGS. 1 to 3. Au on the contrary, the two other articulation lines 1 and 4 defining between them the fourth lateral region 14 converge towards the other end of the tubular body, namely the lower end 26 in the representation of FIGS. 1 to 3.

The first, second and third articulation lines 1 to 3 allow the inner face of the fourth region 14 to be folded against that of the first region 11, as well as the inner face of each of the first and third regions 11 and 13 against the inner face of the second region 12, to lead to the folded configuration shown in the figure 1, in which the first lateral region 11 overlaps the third lateral region 13. Each of the articulation lines 1 and 4 is then entirely situated on the same side of the axis of the other. In other words, the geometric axes 31 and 34 of the articulation lines 1 and 4 intersect at a point 16 situated outside these two lines, that is to say in the extension of these. Ultimately, it is possible that point 16 is located at a common end of lines 1 and 4, as will be seen in one of the design examples given with reference to FIGS. 5 to 13.

Ce qui précède s'exprime de la façon suivante :This type of overlap implies that, along the end 24 of the tubular body, the sum of the lengths L x and L 3 (FIG. 1) of the first and third lateral regions is greater, on the one hand than the length L 2 of the second lateral region 12 and on the other hand to the length L 4 of the fourth lateral region 14. The above is expressed as follows:

Lι + L3 > L2 Ll + L3 > L4. L ι + L 3> L 2 L l + L 3> L 4.

The same observations can be made along the lower end 26. The fourth lateral region 14 is dimensioned to extend without appreciable deformation between the articulation lines 1 and 4 thus positioned relative to one another. This folded configuration of the tubular body is enabled by the property of the fourth articulation line 4 to assume an inverted state, that is to say protruding towards the inside of the tube, so that the fourth lateral region is supported by its outer face against the outer face of the third lateral region. The folded configuration, represented in FIG. 1, constitutes for the tubular body a state of minimal deformation in which the only elastic energy stored is that, if any, of deformation of the articulation lines 1 to 4.

The tubular body is capable of passing from this folded configuration to the volume configuration of FIG. 2 by opening the first lateral region 11 relative to the second region 12 around the line 2 and then pushing the fourth articulation line 4 outwards. We thus go through a maximum of deformation substantially when the third and fourth regions 13 and 14 are roughly coplanar, then the energy of deformation decreases as the articulation line 4 becomes more convex towards the outside of the body. tubular, until reaching a second minimum when the configuration, therefore stable, of Figure 2 is reached. In this example, at least the first and third lateral regions then take a curved configuration, the four lines of articulation being convex towards the outside of the tubular body. In the variant embodiment of FIG. 4, two additional articulation lines 6 and 9 have each been added along a diagonal of the first region 11 and respectively of the third region 13, which are thus each subdivided into two faces 11a, 11b and 13a, 13b respectively. All of these faces can thus take on substantially planar shapes when the tubular body is in the set state. The articulation lines 6 and 9 are shown in double-dashed dashed lines in FIG. 3. The articulation line 6 extends between the upper corner of the second region and the lower corner of the fourth region, otherwise said along the long diagonal of the first region 11 and it defines a concave edge when the tubular body is in volume. On the contrary, the additional articulation line 9 extends along the small diagonal of the third region 13, therefore between the upper corner of the fourth region 14 and the lower corner of the second region 12, and it defines an edge convex on the tubular body in the set state. This is only illustrative, and we could have produced two concave edges along the two large diagonals of regions 11 and 13, or two convex edges along the two small diagonals, we could also have placed the additional fold line in positions other than diagonal.

From the set state shown in Figures 2 and 4, it is easy to fold the tubular body to return to the configuration of Figure 1, which also applies to the example of Figure 4 to the folded state. For this, it suffices at first to apply a thrust P (FIG. 2) on the articulation line 4, preferably in the vicinity of the end 24 of the tubular body along which the fourth lateral region 14 is the longer. This makes it possible to cross the position where the deformation energy is maximum. After that, the folding continues almost alone, but it can of course be helped by folding the first region 11 against the second region 12. If necessary, a mark 27 (Figures 2 and 4) can be provided to indicate the point of the tubular body where pressure P must be exerted to cause folding. The observation of FIG. 1 makes it possible to appreciate that in the folded state, the relative position of the articulation lines 1 and 4 would be the same if the third region 13 were overlapped on, and no longer under , the first region 11. Consequently, in this folding mode also, the fourth lateral region connects without constraint the articulation lines 1 and 4.

In this case the fourth region folds back by its inner face against the third region and by its outer face against the first region. It is therefore necessary that the first line of articulation 1 can be inverted to form a concave fold and that the fourth line of articulation 4 can form a convex fold. In the case of a cardboard production, one - 9 - or the other of the two folding modes is generally possible. A second mark 28 (Figure 2) can be provided to indicate on line 1 the point where the application of a closing pressure Q allows folding according to the second mode. Conceptually, the two folding modes can be described identically, provided that the names given to the lateral regions and to the articulation lines are properly swapped.

The example of FIGS. 5 to 13 will only be described for its differences from the previous one, and the reference numbers will be kept to designate the similar elements. In this example, the tubular body has eight substantially equal faces formed by triangles, all or some only having a truncated top. These triangles succeed each other head to tail so that the tubular body has two square ends, at least some of the vertices of which are bevelled. The square of one end is offset by 45 ° around the axis of the body with respect to that of the other end. The blank provided for producing such a tubular body (FIG. 5) comprises, as before, first, second, third and fourth articulation lines 1, 2, 3 and 4 represented by solid lines, and additional articulation lines 6 , 7, 8 and 9 shown in dashed lines to make it easier to distinguish them. The first and third lateral regions 11 and 13 have substantially the shape of parallelograms and the additional fold lines 6 and 9 extend substantially along the small diagonal of these parallelograms so as to reveal additional convex edges as shown in FIG. 13 The additional fold lines 7 and 8 subdivide the second region 12 into three triangular faces. Lines 7 and 8 each extend from the middle of the longest edge of region 12 to a respective one of the ends of its shortest edge. The fourth region 14 corresponds to only one triangle. The faces 11a and 11b of the region 11 are located at the two ends of the blank which allows bonding with the tongue 22 along the additional articulation line 6. Thus, the bonding is more reliable because the additional lines are less stressed than the lines 1 to 4 during the folding operations and volume setting of the body.

Figures 6 to 8 show that by successive folds of the blank first along the line of articulation 3 then in reverse direction along the line of articulation 4 then in the natural direction along the line 2 and finally along line 1, the face 11a is brought to be superimposed on the tongue 22 previously glued to directly obtain the tubular body in the folded state.

For this manufacture by successive folding to be feasible, it is necessary to have previously positioned the articulation lines 1 to 4 so that the fourth region is inscribed substantially without constraint between the articulation lines 1 and 4 in the folded state .

On va donc choisir chacun des bords B1 et B3 un peu plus long que chacun des bords B2 et B4.In the example of FIGS. 5 to 13, this requires slight deviations from the strict equality of the eight triangular faces. In particular the examination of FIG. 9 makes it possible to understand, without taking account for the moment of the truncated vertices of certain triangular faces, that if the edges B 2 - and B 4 of the second and of the fourth region 12, 14 the along the upper end of the body are of equal length, the edges Bi and B 3 cannot also have this same length since they are substantially positioned like the diagonals of a rectangle whose two opposite sides would be B 2 and B 4 . We know that the diagonals of a rectangle are longer than each of its sides. We will therefore choose each of the edges B 1 and B 3 a little longer than each of the edges B 2 and B 4 .

At the other end of the tubular body, it can be seen from FIG. 9 that if the edges C λ and C 3 of the first and third regions 11, 13 are chosen equal, they are necessarily larger each than half of the edge C 2 of the second region since the sum of two sides C and C 3 of a triangle is always greater than the third side C 2 . The fourth region 14 has a zero or almost zero length along this end of the tubular body, depending on whether the triangle constituting this fourth region is truncated or not. There is shown by an enlargement at the bottom of FIG. 9 the folding configuration at the bottom of the region 14 when the latter consists of a truncated triangle. When the triangle is not truncated, the point of concourance 16 of the articulation lines 1 and 4 coincides with the end of these, as illustrated in FIG. 5. Thus, along the upper end of the body tubular, we see alternating the long and short edges, namely B x (long), B 2 (short), B 3 (long), and B (short). On the contrary, along the other end of the tubular body, two short edges C 21 and C 2 (forming part of the edge C 2 of the second region 12), are followed by two long edges C 3 and C.

As a practical example, corresponding to a tubular body having a length of 105 mm, one can approximately give the short edges a length of 40 mm and the long edges a length of 41.5 mm. The triangles whose base is a short edge can then not be truncated, while the triangles having for base a long edge can be truncated so as to have at the top a width "S" (Figure 5) equal to the difference of the length between the long edges and the short edges, approximately 1.5 mm in the example. Two advantages are thus obtained. On the one hand all the lines of articulation of the blank of Figure 5 are parallel to one or the other of two directions and only two, which greatly facilitates manufacturing. On the other hand, the width "S" of the vertices of the truncated triangles, located at certain angles of each end of the tubular body, makes it possible to reduce the extra length to give to the long edges. The aesthetic effect is therefore improved both by the equal inclination of the edges and by the small differences in length between long and short edges along each end of the tubular body.

We can further improve the appearance by ensuring that bevels are present at all angles, in other words that all the triangles are truncated, in a more or less significant way according to the length of their base, always to respect the parallelism of all the lines of articulation with one or the other of two directions on the blank.

According to a particularly advantageous example, the edges B 2 , B 4 , C 21 and C 22 have a length of 40 mm each, the edges B x and B 3 a length of 41 mm, and the edges i and C 3 a length of 42 mm. Each triangular face has a truncated vertex whose width is equal to the base of the triangle in question, reduced by 39 mm, which gives a bevel of 1, 2 or 3 mm depending on the case. This configuration has the advantage that the two ends of the tubular body in the set state are in the same circle when viewed along the axis of the body. The tubular body appears strictly vertical when it is placed by one of its ends on a horizontal surface.

Figures 10 to 13 illustrate the transition from the folded state of Figure 9 to the volume state of Figure 13, according to a process similar to that described in connection with the example of Figures 1 to 3. Folding can be triggered by pressing the mark 27 as described above.

If necessary, the tubular body can be transformed into a container such as a box or a vase exterior by means of a bottom 29 (FIG. 13) shaped to fit into the end 26 of the body 3, and close this end. . Similarly, the box can be closed at the top by a cover having a shape similar to the bottom 29. A bottom or a cover such as 29 but externally nestable is also conceivable. At the same time, such bottoms or covers stabilize the shape of the tubular body set in volume.

The examples of FIGS. 14 to 25 will only be described for their differences from that of FIGS. 5 to 13. In the example of FIGS. 14 and 15, all the faces are triangular, no vertex is truncated. This makes it necessary to provide for a greater difference between the long edges B x , B 3 , C 1 # C 3 on the one hand and the short edges C 21 , C 22 , B 2 , B 4 on the other hand. For example, still for a 105 mm long body, the long edges can be around 43 mm in length and the short edges around 40 mm in length. These differences remain difficult to detect with the naked eye, which perceives the shape of the tubular body as regular. Independently of the above, the tubular body of FIGS. 14 and 15 comprises, along the edges C 21 , C 22 and C 3 of the respective flaps 36, 37, 38 for producing a conventional bottom, that is to say not automatic. The tubular body thus forms, with these flaps, a box with closed bottom and open top.

In the example of Figures 16 and 17, the blank has a fan shape, so that one end of the tubular body has a much larger perimeter than the other. The tubular body thus has the general appearance of a trunk of a pyramid. Such tubular bodies are mutually nestable. Here again, a quasi-regular configuration is possible thanks to a slight excess length of the edges B x and B 3 relative to the edges B 2 and B 4 , and of the edges Q x and C 3 relative to the edges C 21 and C 22 .

The example of Figures 18 and 19 is consistent with that of Figures 5 to 13 except that the edges C lf C 21 / C 22 and C 3 are provided with respective flaps 31, 32, 33 and 34 to achieve a bottom called "automatic "well known to the packaging specialist. Thus, with the tubular body set in volume and said bottom, a box with a closed bottom and an open top shown in FIG. 19 is produced. In the example of FIGS. 20 and 21, the edges B x , B 2 and B 3 are extended respectively by a flap 39, a cover 41 and a flap 42 to allow the upper closure of this container. This is intended to constitute a disposable flower vase. To this end, the cover 41 has an orifice 43 surrounded by deformable tongues 44 intended to bring together the bouquet as shown in FIG. 22. After forming the tubular body from the blank as shown in FIGS. 6 to 13, the device is fixed inside the tubular body a waterproof bag open at its upper end. This attachment is achieved by bonding 46 between the outer face of the bag and the inner face of the tubular body over the entire periphery at a short distance from the upper edge of the bag and the edges B 1 -B 4 of the tubular body. Once this bonding has been made during manufacture, the vase can be placed in the folded position by exerting pressure on the angle between the edges B 3 and B 4 as previously stated. The bag 45 does not oppose this folding. As the bag 45 forms the bottom of the vase, the tubular body is open at its lower end, to simplify the volume setting operation as much as possible.

When purchasing a bouquet of flowers, the florist provides the vase in the folded state, free of charge or at an additional cost, and the person who purchased the set can in turn offer the vase and bouquet.

The bag 45 serves to contain the water necessary for the conservation of the bouquet. Once the flowers have withered, the foldable vase is discarded, preferably in the folded state to minimize clutter in the trash can.

In the example of Figure 23, the tubular body 51 belongs to a sealed container whose bottom 52 is closed by a flexible wall as well as the upper end 53, however provided with a screw cap 54. The tubular body 51 may for example be made of a material with reduced rigidity along the articulation lines, for example a plastic material or metallic very malleable along the joints and much more rigid outside the joints. With this embodiment, the gradual expulsion of the product (concentrated milk, toothpaste, maintenance cream for floors, for shoes, etc.), instead of being carried out by a disorderly deformation of a tube or the like, done in a methodical way by starting the compression on the mark 27 and until complete folding of the envelope. This allows the envelope to be emptied very efficiently without having to make great efforts even when the product runs out. The end of the tubular body which is adjacent to the reference 27 is placed opposite the flexible wall provided with the plug 53. Thus, the progressive compression of the sealed container begins at the end opposite the product ejection orifice .

In the example of FIG. 24, the tubular body 61, for example made of cardboard, simply squeezes a peripheral envelope for a sealed pocket 62 of plastic material, the upper end of which is intended to be cut or torn to release the product. . Again, the tubular body 61 will help to rationally compress the bag 62 to expel the product, starting at the end remote from the opening. In the example of FIG. 25, the articulation lines, instead of being produced by simple creasing of a cardboard blank, for example, have a certain width L. They consist of a veil of flexible material uniting the faces themselves, which are thicker and almost rigid. This facilitates manufacturing because all the faces can be constituted by identical triangles, truncated or not. The length differences necessary for folding are provided by the flexible material, which in the folded state of the body aligns with the faces whose dimension must be greater. The use is also facilitated because the folding can be triggered by pressing on any triangular face vertex. Of course, the invention is not limited to the examples described and shown.

The height of the tubular body need not be the same all along its periphery. Compared to the example in FIG. 4, one could for example provide at least one additional edge on the second lateral region and none on the other three regions. The invention also does not exclude the presence of articulation lines on the fourth lateral region. In the case of all identical or similar faces, their shape can be trapezoidal instead of triangular for example.

The numbers of faces greater than eight are conceivable. The tubular body can be produced from a tube of material, instead of from a blank. The invention can be carried out directly by molding.

In the case of a tubular body flared towards one of its ends, it is not essential that the second and the fourth lateral region shrink in opposite directions.

It is in particular possible to freely combine, otherwise than described, the tubular body structures described, with the total or partial closing means, lower or upper described and / or with the sealing means described.
