  • the invention generally relates to strings for musical instruments and specifically to an improvement in fully wrapped wire strings comprising a core wire, and a plurality of wrapping wires helically wound concentrically and successively around the core wire, all or a portion of each of said predecessor wire completely contacting and self-adhering to the core wire and successor wrapping wires extending slightly over opposite ends of a predecessor wire for self adherence on said core wire without additional securing means resulting in more life and better vibrations of the string.

Abstract

Cette invention concerne une corde (10) d'instrument de musique à âme circulaire ou non circulaire et entièrement guipée. Cette corde comporte une âme (12) autour de laquelle est disposé un enroulement hélicoïdal constitué d'une pluralité de fils guipés intérieurs (14, 16 et 18) et d'un fil guipé extérieur (20), la totalité du premier fil guipé interne (14) étant en contact autocollant avec ladite âme (12) et une partie dudit second fil intérieur (16), une partie du troisième fil intérieur (18) et une partie du fil guipé extérieur (20) s'étendant sur les extrémités opposées du fil intérieur (14), (16) et (18) correspondant de façon à former un contact auto-collant avec ladite âme (12), ce qui supprime toute nécessité de pratiquer un raccord ou un sertissage ou de faire appel à tout autre procédé de fixation.
