Abstract

Unité (14) de lecture de fichiers sonores et procédé associé. Ladite unité (14) possède un détecteur (30) de fichiers sonores et un lecteur de sons. Le détecteur (30) de transfert de fichier identifie le transfert d'un fichier sonore vers la station de travail locale (12). Lorsqu'un fichier de ce type est détecté, ses données sont transférées vers le lecteur de sons qui comporte un décompresseur (34) et un tampon premier entré-premier sorti (FIFO). Le tampon FIFO (34) retarde les données tandis qu'elles sont transférées vers le décompresseur FIFO (34). Ledit décompresseur (34) reçoit les données lorsqu'elles sortent du tampon FIFO (34), décomprime les données et envoie les données décomprimées à un dispositif audio (26) de la station locale de travail (12) en vue de leur lecture.
