Abstract

Der Magnesiumschmelzofen (1) weist mehrere Kammern auf. Einer Schmelzkammer (2) wird das zu schmelzende Material durch einen unter die Schmelzbadoberfläche eintauchenden Chargierschacht (20) zugeführt. Durch einen im unteren Drittel einer Trennwand (11) befindlichen oberhalb einer sich am Boden (14) der Schmelzkammer (2) absetzenden Schicht von Verunreinigungen angeordneten Durchlaß (3) tritt die Schmelze langsam in eine Abstehkammer (4) über. Die Schmelze verweilt unter langsamem Voranströmen in der Abstehkammer (4), wobei Verunreinigungen an die Oberfläche aufsteigen bzw. sich am Boden (15) absetzen. Die gereinigte Schmelze fließt durch einen im unteren Drittel einer zweiten Trennwand (12) befindlichen zweiten Durchlaß (5) in eine Dosierkammer (6). Der Dosierkammer (6) kann die Schmelze mittels einer Dosierpumpe (27) über ein Überführungsrohr (28) entnommen werden. Der Magnesiumschmelzofen (1) ermöglicht gleichzeitig ein Schmelzen, Reinigen und dosiertes Entnehmen des Magnesiums.
