  • the present invention relates to an arrangement for fixing an endotracheal tube or other similar probe by means of a biting piece executed as a pipe through clamping by means of a clamping component.
  • the fixing of endotracheal tubes is usually performed using external tape and with a biting block inside the patient's mouth. This can cause discomfort to patients from the tape, both during the fixing phase and afterwards when the tape is removed together with the tube. There is also a risk that the biting block may find its way into the patient's throat, where it can cause choking.

  • An arrangement 1 for the secure and simple fixing of an endotracheal tube 2 or other similar probe by means of a biting piece 3 executed as a pipe through clamping by means of a clamping component 4 comprises, in accordance with the present invention, a biting piece pipe 3 that is slitted. More specifically, the aforementioned biting piece pipe 3 exhibits a slit-shaped opening 5 which extends along the entire longitudinal extent L of the pipe and from its outside 6 to its inner accommodating space 7, which is intended for accommodating an aforementioned endotracheal tube 2 or a similar tuhje .
  • a detachable fixing device 4 is included m the aforementioned arrangement 1 and is capable of interacting with the pipe 3 and the aforementioned endotracheal tube 2 for the purpose of fixing the tube 2 in the desired fixing position F, thereby preventing the tube 2 from being displaced relative to the biting piece
  • the aforementioned detachable tube fixing device 4 is formed by a fixable bar 4A or a similar pressure component which, in the fixing position F, extends across the longitudinal extent L of the pipe.
  • the tube fixing device 4 is preferably detachably attachable to the pipe 3 by means of snap-in elements 8, 9.
  • Snap-in elements may consist of a laterally S enlarged part ⁇ , which can be so arranged as to be capable of being pressed down into, and of being accommodated by an accommodating opening 9 adapted to the form of the aforementioned enlarged component 8 in a transverse groove 10 which extends from the top side 3A of the aforementioned pipe 3.
  • the aforementioned tube fixing device 4 has a pressure component 11 capable of being accommodated internally in a pipe 3, for example in the form of a disc which exhibits a number of through-passageways 12, 12A, 12B, 12C...., etc., adapted to the form of the intended probe 2.
  • the aforementioned pressure component 11 may, for example, have a peripheral form corresponding to that of the inner 7 generating surface 3B of the pipe.
  • a probe 2 which is fixed, is thus clamped effectively in the pipe 3 by means of the pressure component 11 against the inner generating surface 3B of the aforementioned pipe and extending through the passage 12 in the tube fixing device 4, at the same time as the enlarged parts 8 of the aforementioned device 4 are pressed into the matching accommodating openings 9 and are retained in the fixing position F in this way.
  • the tube fixing device 4' can also, for example as shown in the drawings in Fig. 8, exhibit means to enable the effective width V of the tube fixing device to be varied across its longitudinal extent.
  • the tube fixing device 4' can be formed by two preferably angled side walls 13, .14 situated at a mutual distance from one another and capable of displacement relative to one another, which side walls have finger grip devices 15, 16 on their upper part to permit them to be pressed together m conjunction with the insertion and removal of the aforementioned devices 4' into and from the proposed transverse groove 10', 10'', 10''', and in that a bar 4A is formed at the connection between the walls 13, 14.

Laterally extending counter-pressure devices 22, 23 capable of being accommodated inside a patient's mouth 17 may be arranged in the biting piece tube 3, 3', if necessary.

Abstract

L'invention concerne un dispositif (1) permettant de fixer un tube endotrachéal (2) ou une autre sonde similaire au moyen d'un tube à embout à mordre (3) se présentant sous la forme d'un dispositif de fixation dans lequel passe un tuyau et constitué d'un élément de fixation (4). De plus ledit tube à embout à mordre (3) présente un espace de réception s'étendant depuis l'extérieur (6) vers l'intérieur (7), destiné à loger ledit tube endotrachéal (2) ou une autre ouverture (5) à travers la paroi périphérique du tube, un dispositif de fixation latéral amovible (4) étant conçu pour agir conjointement avec le tube endotrachéal (2) et permettre la fixation de ce dernier dans la position voulue (F).
