Description

Beschreibung description
The invention relates to an electric toothbrush with a toothbrush axis driven by an electric motor via a gear, the gear being held in a holder fixed to the housing via an axis extending transversely to the toothbrush axis.
In the case of electric toothbrushes of the above type, the problem arises that damage or even destruction of their gear can occur if the toothbrush is accidentally dropped and, unfortunately, hits the floor with the end face of its toothbrush axis. The impact force then axially into the toothbrush axis is usually so great that the gearbox is destroyed.
The invention is based on the problem of designing an electric toothbrush of the type mentioned at the beginning with as little effort as possible so that it can withstand an unfortunate fall in which it hits the toothbrush axis without damage.
This problem is solved according to the invention in that the axis is resiliently mounted on opposite sides in the longitudinal direction of the toothbrush axis.
In such a toothbrush, the toothbrush axis can move elastically together with the gearbox relative to its electric motor when an impact force acts on its toothbrush axis. As a result, the impact is intercepted elastically so that the gearbox or other components of the toothbrush are not damaged. The resilient mounting of the toothbrush axis can be done in different ways. A very simple embodiment consists in that the axle is supported in the holder by a damping bush.
Alternatively, however, it is also possible for the axle to be mounted in the holder in a tube-like spring part.
The resilient mounting of the axis of the transmission according to the invention can take place with differently designed transmissions. However, it is particularly advantageously applicable to an electric toothbrush whose toothbrush axis can be set in a pendulum motion about its longitudinal axis and a reciprocating motion in the direction of its longitudinal axis by a rotating motor shaft, whereby to generate the pendulum motion on the Toothbrush axis a radially aligned and firmly connected rocker is provided and the toothbrush for generating the reciprocating movement of the toothbrush axis has an eccentric driven by the electric motor, which in a driver connected to the toothbrush axis engages, and which is characterized in that the driver has a bore extending transversely to the toothbrush axis, into which the eccentric engages to produce a circular movement of the driver, that the driver furthermore has a groove running transversely to the toothbrush axis, with which it can be moved across the toothbrush axis via e A rocker, which is firmly connected to the toothbrush axis and is designed as a sliding block and is oriented radially to the toothbrush axis, engages in that the rocker is held in the groove such that it can be tilted to a limited extent about the longitudinal axis of the toothbrush axis, and in with the toothbrush axis the rocker is coupled to the driver by a swivel connection.
With such a toothbrush, a single eccentric, driven by the electric motor of the toothbrush, is sufficient to generate both movements of the toothbrush axis. Therefore, the axis of this single eccentric can easily be resiliently mounted according to the invention in order to absorb shocks.
To further clarify its basic principle, reference is made below to the drawing. This shows in
Fig.l eine perspektivische Darstellung eines für die Erfindung wesentlichen Bereichs der Zahn¬ bürste,1 shows a perspective illustration of an area of the toothbrush that is essential for the invention,
Fig.2 einen Teilbereich des in Figur 1 gezeigten Zahnbürstenbereichs in vergrößertem Maßstab und ebenfalls perspektivisch,2 shows a partial area of the toothbrush area shown in FIG. 1 on an enlarged scale and also in perspective,
Fig.3 eine perspektivische Darstellung eines Federteils zur Lagerung der Achse,3 shows a perspective view of a spring part for mounting the axle,
Fig.4 eine Seitenansicht des Federteils mit der Zahnburstenachse und einem Halter.4 shows a side view of the spring part with the toothbrush axis and a holder.
Das Kronenrad 6 bildet mit dem Mitnehmer 9 und weiteren, in Figur 1 nicht zu sehenden Bauteilen ein Getriebe 24.FIG. 1 shows an electric toothbrush with a holder 1 which is fixed to the housing and in which a toothbrush axis 2 is mounted such that it can perform a reciprocating movement in the longitudinal direction and, in addition, can perform an oscillating movement about its longitudinal axis 3. On the free left end of the toothbrush axis 2 as seen in FIG. An electric motor 4 is used to drive the toothbrush axis 2, which drives a pinion 5 by means of a motor shaft which cannot be recognized and which meshes with the toothing of a crown wheel 6 mounted fixed to the housing. This crown wheel 6 has an eccentric 7 which extends transversely to the toothbrush axis 2 and which passes through a bore in a driver 9. The driver 9 therefore moves in a circular manner in a plane running parallel to the plane of the crown gear 6 when the electric motor 4 is running. The crown gear 6 forms a gear 24 with the driver 9 and other components that cannot be seen in FIG. 1.
It is important for the invention that the eccentric 7 with its axis 17 is mounted in the holder 1 at its opposite ends with the interposition of a damping bushing 22, 23 in each case.
Die Figur 2 verdeutlicht, daß der Mitnehmer 9 in seiner der Zahnburstenachse 2 zugewandten Stirnfläche 10 eine als T-Nut ausgebildete, quer zur Zahnburstenachse 2 ver¬ laufende Nut 11 hat, welche über eine als Nutenstein aus¬ gebildete Schwinge 12 greift, die ihrerseits in der Nut 11 um die Längsachse 3 der Zahnburstenachse 2 kippbar eingreift.FIG. 2 illustrates that the driver 9 has in its end face 10 facing the toothbrush axis 2 a groove 11 which is designed as a T-groove and runs transversely to the toothbrush axis 2 and which engages over a rocker arm 12 which is designed as a sliding block and which in turn engages in the groove 11 engages tiltably about the longitudinal axis 3 of the toothbrush axis 2.
The toothbrush axis 2 also has a radially oriented cam 13 which is connected to the driver 9 by a pivot connection 14 such that it can oscillate about the longitudinal axis 3 together with the toothbrush axis 2, which is not possible for the driver 9, because it is held by the eccentric 7. In this exemplary embodiment, the swivel connection 14 is formed by a recess 15 in the end face 10 of the driver 9, in which the cam 13 engages and which each protrude from a tilting edge 16 which is directed against one side of the Cam 13 abuts, expanded in width up and down. Seen in Figure 2, the driver 9 moves by the movement of the eccentric 7 to the right or left, then the cam 13 tilts accordingly to the right or left, so that the toothbrush axis 2 performs the desired pendulum movement. Since the groove 11 is T-shaped, the movement of the driver 9 forwards or backwards causes the toothbrush axis 2 to move back and forth with the rocker 12 accordingly.
The axis 17 can also be seen in FIG. 2, which passes through the crown wheel 6 and carries it as well as the eccentric 7. If the toothbrush housing is designed accordingly, its front region with the toothbrush axis 2 can be bent relative to a region with the electric motor 4 about this axis 17.
FIG. 3 shows a tube-like spring part 25, in which the axis 17 of the gear of the toothbrush is seated. FIG. 4 illustrates that this spring part 25 is movably held in a holder 26, so that it can deform, as indicated by dash-dotted lines, and thereby enables movement in the direction of the longitudinal axis 3 of the toothbrush axis 2 through the axis 17.
