A sheet-steel door, especially a fire-door, with a box structure (1) forming one large face of the door leaf and a cover (2) forming the other large side which is secured at its edge regions (3) to outwardly projecting strips (4) in the box-section edges parallel to the plane of the large faces, in which an edge section of the edge regions (3) of the cover (2) or of the edge strips of the box-section edges to form the contact region of a fold (7) is angled towards the box section (1) and extends over the connecting region (5). Said sheet-steel door is designed for substantially easier handling and a better joint between the box section and the cover in that the edge section (6) has a first bend forming a web (8), the width of which determines the top of the fold, and a second bend forming the contact region (9) which projects over the connecting region (5) at a distance of about the web width.

Description

S T A H L B L E C H T U R S T A H L B L E C H T U R

The invention relates to a sheet steel door, in particular in fire protection training, with a box forming the door leaf broad side and a cover forming the other door leaf broad side, which is connected at its edge regions to edge strips of the box edges projecting outwards parallel to the broad side plane, in particular by spot welding, whereby an edge section of the edge regions of the lid or the edge strips of the box edges adjoining the connection zone to the outside is angled to form the stop area of a fold toward the box and overlaps the connection zone.

Door constructions of this type are known, both in thin rebate and in thick rebate designs. In the case of a thin rebate door, the cover which overlaps the edge strips which are bent off towards the outside at the edges of the box is spot welded in this overlapping area, so that a door leaf corresponding to the depth of the box is obtained. The lid has an original extension that extends beyond the edge strips of the box, in the form of edge sections that are bent back after the spot welding by 180 ° onto the edge strips of the box. This results in a three-layer design of small thickness in the fold area, which in the case of the bent-over edge sections of the cover, the spot welding zones of the connection between the edge strips of the box and the edge areas of the cover overlap. Such a procedure is shown schematically in FIG. 2.

A thick rebate door of conventional design also consists of a box and a cover, the box being designed to be less deep by approximately the fold thickness if the thickness matches that of the thin rebate design. The lid has in its edge areas protruding from the box a web bent at right angles from the lid plane and then a stop area angled towards the box, which engages over the edge strips of the box and with its freely tapering edge into the angle area between the box body and the edge strip engages. Here, tack welding takes place, which is disadvantageous because of the possible welding spatter and burn-up. What is particularly cumbersome and therefore laborious in terms of production technology is the fact that, in the case of the above-described thick rebate door, the lid folded in its edge regions can only be brought into the welding position with the box by moving it in the longitudinal direction of the edge regions, i.e. with a door height of 2 m, this is a correspondingly space-consuming and unwieldy process. This method of manufacture is shown schematically in FIG. 3.

The invention has for its object to provide a thick rebate door made of box and lid, which is much easier to handle and less problems with regard to the type of connection between the box and lid.

Starting from a sheet steel door with the features mentioned at the outset, this object is achieved in that the edge section forms a first bend forming a web that determines the thickness of the fold in width, and then a second bend forming the stop area. has an ending bend which overlaps the connecting zone at a spacing of approximately web width.

The design of the thick rebated sheet steel door according to the invention is based on the idea of enabling spot welding with regard to handling and in particular also to protect against corrosion by initially failing to completely convert the cover into its finally angled configuration with regard to its pre-folded edge region, so that the connection zone between the edge strip of the box and the edge region of the lid is accessible perpendicularly thereto after the box has been placed on the lid, so that a spot welding device can be attached accordingly. Only after spot welding has been carried out is the prepared, folded stop zone of the lid further bent onto the box, so that the stop area of the fold overlaps the spot welded connection zone between the edge strips of the box and the edge area of the lid.

According to the invention it is achieved that the connection between the lid and the box is made possible by spot welding and that one can do with a simple placing of the box on the lid or vice versa and thus avoids the annoying pushing together of the box and the preformed lid.

It is fundamentally conceivable to form the fold with a web and stop surface on the box or in connection with its edge strip, but this is preferably done in the area of the cover, because this also overlaps the free edge of the edge strip of the box.

The design according to the invention is shown as an example from FIG. The box, identified overall by 1, has on its edges parallel to the door plane outwardly striving edge strips 4 which engage flatly with edge regions 3 of the cover 2 of the door leaf as soon as the cover and box are transferred into the connecting position. This state is shown on the left in FIG. 1. In this state, spot welding is carried out between edge strips 4 of the box 1 and edge regions 3 of the lid 2; this is indicated by correspondingly schematized tool reproduction in this left part of the figure.

It can be seen from the left part of the picture that the edge area 3 of the cover 2 is pre-folded in its edge section 6 adjoining the outside via the connection zone to form a thick fold, specifically after the connection zone with a web 8 and a stop area 9 adjoining it at right angles, the ends in a stiffening edge 10 which is in turn angled by more than 90 ° and faces the connecting zone 5 - spot welding zone. From the left part of the figure it can be seen that the web 8, which roughly determines the thickness of the fold, is only bent by an angle of less than 90 ° in preparation for the cover plane, so that the spot welding tool can effortlessly reach the connection zone between the cover and the box. After spot welding has been carried out, the edge section 6 of the edge region 3 of the cover 2 is then bent further into its final position such that the web 8 is bent at right angles to the cover plane. This results in the configuration of the sheet steel door shown in the right part of the figure in FIG. 1, in which, despite the simplest and cheapest manufacture in handling and connection technology, a stop area of the thick rebate covering the connection zone is reached.
