Abstract

A device for catheterism is a substitutive version presented to simplify the handling of a catheter (2), with less trauma to the patient, caused by the introduction of a catheter (2), which uses, in general, a method called pre-chamber introduction, therefore, to be substituted by this new method, with the exclusive use of the middle stabilizing grip (3) which creates a small stiffness in short portions of the long and flexible cannula of the catheter (2), allowing a simple introduction without the use of pre-chambers introduction, which cause excessive expansion of the nipped organ. This device for catheterism is quite versatile, in other words, it may be combined with several types of devices for the probing and puncturing of blood vessels or liquid pockets. With this universal device for catheterism, the whole process for the use of the catheter (2) is quite simplified and safe.

Description

DEVICE FOR CATHETERISM
This Model of Utility relates to a middle stabilizing grip device for limiting the excessive movement of the length of the - flexible cannula of a catheter in its shorter frontal portion, by holding it firmly and adhered to the tip of the puncturing guiding needle, maintaining it at the same level thereof, so it can be inserted, jointly and up to the desired organ, in a direct and simple use, without the need of disposable guiding ducts, whicn - cause large openings in the nipped organ.
We refer to the said middle point stabilizing grip for universal use, which makes viable the use of catheters of different gauges, lengths, probes or even simple infusions in operational conditions of direct introduction.
- In the following drawings and descriptive specification:
Figure 1 is a lateral view of the catheterism device, ready for use.
Figure 2 shows details of the tip of the puncturing needle, where the edge of the cannula in the catheter appears in the same level - and very close to it, and the functional position of the 4 points of the salience of the middle stabilizing grip (3), which press the cannula against the needle (1).
Figure 3 shows the lateral cut view of the catheterism device with the use of different optional parts and accessories (7,8,9.10,14). - Figure 4 focuses the sight of the use of the catheter with possible usage with surgical probes (12,13).
Figure 5 shows the catheter receptacle device connected to the holding piece of an hypodermic syringe (14), as an alternative usage, instead of using an automatic suction device (7).
- Figure 6 shows the position for holding the middie stabilizing grip.
Figure 7 shows the position of the cannula (of the zatneter) already within the patient and the penetrating device, the guiding needle and the automatic probe (to assure the puncturing of the - vein) is pulled out.
Figure 8 is a lateral cut view of the middle point stabilizing grip (3), which will press the lateral of the cannula of the catheter against the puncturing guiding needle (1).
Figure 9 shows a practical use of the catheterism kit, as handled by an expert .
Figure 10 shows the way the catheter receptacle device should be fixed when passing through its holding loop (6), substituting a painful suture in the skin.
- Figure 11 shows the "UNIVERSAL DEVICE FOR CATHETERISM" adapted to a short needle, for the initial puncture, having a wire probe (19) within the cannula of the catheter (2), connecting the back portion of the needle (1) to the clear cover of the catheter receptacle device (20). Upon reaching the blood vessel, the blood - will enter the puncturing needle, passing through the opening, close to the biting point of the wire stylet (19), reaching the bottom of the clear cover of the catheter ( 20 ) receiving device, where it will be seen, therefore evidencing the puncturing of the blood vessel or of the liquid pocket.
- Figure 12 shows a long cannula catheter (2) located within the punctured vein, with the middle point stabilizing grip (3) not being connected to it. The tip of the puncturing needle (1) is withdrawn into the cannula of the catheter (2) due to the separation of the clear cover (20), (which protects the back end - of the wire stylet), located in the back portion of the catheter receptacle device. The catheter is now ready to be introduced, deeper, into the blood stream (15; (with the help of twisting movements and the stiffening of the wire stylet (19), located within the cannula of the catheter (2)), without the use of the - puncturing pre-chamber, which would cause a large opening in the nipped organ.
IDENTIFICATION AND DESCRIPTION OF THE INDICATORS
(1) Guiding puncturing needle, enveloped by the cannula of tne catheter (2);
- (2) Flexible cannula of the catheter (made of special reinforced material), having in its interior the guiding puncturing needle (1), maintaining the edge of the prior mouthpiece of the catheter quite close in the tip of the needle.
(3) Middle point stabilizing grip, which limits the flexible - movement backward of the mouthpiece of the catheter (2). therefore creating the stiffening of the catheter tip, necessary for the firm and safety puncturing of the patient's skin by said catheter, assuring its penetration together with the puncturing guiding needle (1). (4) The four linear saliences of the middle point stabilizing grip
(knurled), which press the flexible cover of tne catneter against the guiding puncturing needle (1).
(5) Mouthpiece of the catheter receptacle device (with two holding - wings on its edge).
(6) The holding wing of the catheter receptacle device (there is the alternative of two holding wings), to facilitate the fitting of the parts or the twisting of the catheter cannula (2).
(7) The automatic probe device for evidencing the puncture of tne - blood vessel or of the liquid pocket, wnich has a hurdy-gurdy like valve.
(8) Supporting shoulders between the grip of the puncturing guiding needle (7) and the wings of the catheter receptacle device (6).
- (9) Elastic curved sleeve which connects the catheter (2) to a medicine serum cannula (10). Being a safety piece, it should assure that the blood will not overflow upon the extraction of tne puncturing guiding needle (1).
(10) Cannula of the medicine liquid.
- ( 11 ) Sheet metal gripping plate used to restrain passage through the cannula for medicine liquid.
(12) Special guiding devices of operational probes are introduced within the cannula of the catheter with their gauge duly adapted.
(13) A mouthpiece which receives the operational devices of tne - special probes.
(14) Hypodermic syringe, used to hold the puncture guide, substituting the automatic probe device for evidencing the puncturing of the blood vessel (7).
(15) Organ nipped by the puncturing needle of tne catheter.
- (16) Area where the catheter punctures and enters the skm.
(17) Strap (or fabric riboon) which remains around the limbs of the body, passing through the wing of tne catheter receptacle device.
(18) The probable rough markings made en the surface of tne - guiding needle, to facilitate the adherence between the cover of the flexible cannula of the catheter to the puncturing guiding needle, when it is pressed by the middle stabilizing grip (3).
(19) Wire stylet which connects the back portion of the puncturing guiding needle (1) within the cannula of the catheter (2) to the back portion of the clear cover of the catheter cannula receptacle device (20).
(20) Clear cover of the catheter cannula receptacle device, which has several defined fitting mortises for the shoulders of the - catheter receptacle device (5) located in the channels of the internal wall, which regulates the back movement of the wire stylet (19) which, as a consequence, pushes back the puncturing guiding needle (1). The cover element is made of clear material, so that it would be possible to see the coming of the blood as a - confirmation of the successful puncturing of the blood vessel or of the liquid pocket.
