Abstract
The present invention relates to sandals which are used during swimming at beach or for indoor sports. The sandal of the present invention comprises: a sole (2) made of synthetic rubber sponge; and an upper (3) made of elastic material and having the same size with the sole (2) wherein the sole (2) and upper (3) are bonded together along their peripheral portions (2') and (3') at the bonding portion (6) to form the body (1) of the sandal; a slit (4) for inserting the foot and a plurality of expansible slits (4') and (4') are formed in the upper (3). When the sandal is put on a foot, the upper (3) expands to conform with the shape of the foot and contacts tightly with the foot. When the sandal is taken off, the upper returns to its original flat form close to the sole due to its elasticity.
Description
SANDALS TECHNICAL FIELD The present invention relates to sandals which are used during swimming at beach or for indoor exercise. BACKGROUND ART
Various known shoes or sandals for swimming or indoor sports have the drawbacks that they are heavy, taken off easily and difficult to carry or store due to their bulkiness. DISCOLUSRE OF THE INVENTION
Therefore, the object of the invention is to provide a sandal which solve above-mentioned problems. The sandal of the present invention comprises; a synthetic rubber sole; and an upper made of elastic material and having the same size with the sole; wherein said sole and upper are bonded together along their peripheral portions, a slit for inserting the foot and a plurality of expansible slits are formed in the upper.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS The present invention will now be described in more detail with reference to the drawings, wherein
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the sandal according to the present invention;
Fig. 2 is a sectional view of the sandal of this invention; and
Fig. 3 shows the shape of the sandal when it is used.
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the sole 2 made of synthetic rubber sponge and the upper 3 made of elastic material are cut so that the sole 2 has the same size with the upper 3. Then, the sole 2 and upper 3 are bonded together along their peripheral portions 2' and 3' at the bonding portion 6 to
form the body 1 of the sandal. In the middle of the upper 3, a longitudinal slit 4 is formed as an opening for inserting the foot. A plurality of expansible slits 4' are formed slantwise at both sides of the slit 4. In addition, a slot 5 is formed in the front upper 3" and a plurality of expansible slits 4" which are parallel to the periphery of the front upper 3" are formed. A little space remains among the slot 5 and the slits 4" for the purpose of advertizement or ornamental design. When the sandal of the present invention is used during swimming or indoor sports, a foot is inserted through the longitudinal slit 4. Then, because the upper 3 is made of elastic material and has a plurality of expansible slits 4' and 4", the upper 3 will be expanded together with the slits 4' and 4" to conform with the shape of the foot as shown in Fig. 3. Therefore, the sandal of this invention will keep tight contact with the foot even during violent exercise in water, on sands or indoors. When the sandal is taken off from the foot, the upper returns to its original flat form close to the sole due to its elasticity.
Consequently, the sandal of the present invention is very convenient to carry or store and it is also easy to pack or transport long distance. In addition, the space of the front upper 3" can be used for advertizement or ornament. INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY
As described above, because the sole 2 and the upper 3 which form the body 1 have the same size, the sandal of this invention is easy to carry or store. In addition, because the upper 3 is made of elastic material and has expansible slits 4, 4' and 4", the upper 3 will contact with the foot tightly and the sandal will not be taken off even during violent exercise. Since the manufacturing cost of the sandal of this
invention is very low due to its simple structure, it can be used as disposable sandal or sandal for sales promotion.
Claims
CLAIMS 1. A sandal comprising: a sole 2 made of synthetic rubber sponge; and an upper 3 made of elastic material and having the same size with said sole 2, wherein said sole 2 and upper 3 being bonded together along their peripheral portions 2' and 3' at the bonding portion 6 to form the body 1 of the sandal; a longitudinal slit 4 for inserting the foot being formed in the upper 3 and a plurality of expansible slits 4' and 4" being formed at both sides and in front of said longitudinal slit 4.
