Definitions
- the invention relates to a tool holder for NC lathes or CNC lathes, with the generic features mentioned in the preamble of claim 1.
- Such tool holders are known and are manufactured and sold, for example, by WNT NC-Technik GmbH & Co.G, Untergassen 5, Sulzberg (brochure 4/89 page 76).
- Tool holders of this type are required in order, for example, to hold turning, piercing and / or boring tools securely on a support which is arranged on the machine frame so as to be movable in two mutually perpendicular coordinate directions for the purpose of machining a rotating workpiece. Since, depending on the type of machining, it may be desirable to select the tool arrangement with respect to the workpiece such that the tool sees the spindle or the workpiece rotatably attached to it "left-turning""" or “right-turning” , such tool holders should of course be equally suitable for both directions of rotation.
- the tool holder corresponding to the prior art are designed so that for the different possible directions of rotation of the workpiece, seen from the support, different tool holders are also required.
- Adjustment options are available by means of which the vertical position of the tool can be adjusted, but it is not simply possible to rotate the tool holder by 180 ° as it were and to reclamp the tool with the required orientation, since then the support against the torque is not is ensured with sufficient certainty.
- the clamping screws can be screwed by means of which the change holder is attached one end face of the basic holder can be pressed on, these tensioning screws being able to pass through a radial slot of the basic holder which is open towards the contact surface and is arranged opening into the through hole, the clear width of this slot being about 1/3 to 1 / 2 of the clear diameter of the anchoring hole, a very secure fixation of the change holder in the basic holder is possible in a simple manner, the elements required for fixation, namely the radial through hole of the Basic holder and the threaded anchor bolt can be produced with the simplest of means.
- the tool holder according to the invention is therefore very inexpensive to manufacture. Since the basic holder is provided in an essentially flat, at least sectionally flat end face against which the interchangeable holder only has to be pressed in order to fix it, that is to say, therefore, a specific design of the basic holder in terms of adaptation to a special interchangeable holder is not required the base holder of the tool holder according to the invention, as it were, “only once” is required in order to be usable in combination with different exchangeable holders. Warehousing is thus considerably simplified since change holders only have to be kept in stock in accordance with the types of tools used, but all of which can be combined with a single basic holder.
- the basic holder is provided with a central bore which is arranged coaxially with the axis of its fastening shaft. Corresponding holders can then be inserted into this bore without further ado, which are expediently provided with a radial flange, which in turn is provided with bores through which tensioning screws can be passed, which can be screwed into the front thread of the basic holder, so that such exchangeable holders can also be fastened to the basic holder in a conventional manner.
- such interchangeable holders for tools extending in the axial direction are also held on the basic holder by means of an anchoring bolt passing through a radial bore of the basic holder.
- the tool holder is provided with connection bores for coolant at a lateral distance from the central axis of its fastening shaft or from a central bore, if any, for receiving axial tool holders the tool holder according to the invention is possible without further ado since the space required for the anchoring bolts and screws is relatively small and at the same time occupies only a narrow strip in the region of a radial plane of the tool holder containing the central shaft axis.
- the tool holder is also provided with coolant channels, each of which has a mouth opening that is open toward the tool and through which coolant can be sprayed onto the tool, these mouth openings being arranged in this way are that, depending on the direction of rotation - left or right - with which the workpiece is driven in rotation and accordingly the tool is arranged with 180 ° different orientations on the tool holder, one or the other opening for the Spraying coolant onto the tool while others are using it expediently is closed by means of a suitable stopper.
- the tool holder can also be fixed with an orientation on the tool holder or support that deviates from a "horizontal" orientation of the tool with respect to the axis of rotation of the workpiece.
- the tool holder according to the invention is inexpensive to manufacture due to its geometrically simple design with correspondingly simple operations and tools.
- FIG. 1 shows a tool holder according to the invention in its position of use on a tool carrier designed as a turret;
- FIG. 2 shows the basic holder of the tool holder according to FIG. 1 in a representation corresponding to the perspective of the representation of FIG. 1 and Fig. 3, the tool holder according to Figure 1, in section along its plane of symmetry.
