Abstract

La régulation thermostatique d'un fer électrique est basée sur l'utilisation de la dilatation et la contraction de la semelle par rapport à un élément de référence ayant un faible coefficient d'expansion. Dans une réalisation, un élément de référence souple (102) s'étend depuis un support fixe (103) situé à la pointe de la semelle (101) à un interrupteur (100) situé à l'arrière. L'élément de référence est relié, sous tension mécanique, à une commande (107) à détente située dans l'interrupteur (100). De cette manière, lorsque la semelle se dilate, l'extrémité libre (111) de la lame (109) est tirée par son élément libre, provoquant ainsi la séparation brusque de la languette à contact (110) du contact (116), ce qui interrompt l'alimentation électrique. La température d'utilisation peut être réglée en modifiant la longueur efficace de l'élément de référence, par exemple en faisant dévier celui-ci latéralement par l'intermédiaire d'une came (126).
