Abstract

Procédé de production de 5-(4'-hydroxyphényl)hydantoïne consistant, premièrement, à mélanger de manière anhydre une 4-hydroxyacétophénone, un nitrite d'alkyle contenant 1 à 5 atomes de carbone, un alcool secondaire contenant 5 atomes de carbone au moins, ainsi qu'un chlorure d'hydrogène anhydre afin de former un intermédiaire; et ensuite à faire réagir l'intermédiaire avec de l'urée, de l'eau et du chlorure d'hydrogène concentré aqueux de manière à produire de la 5-(4'-hydroxyphényl)hydantoïne. On peut ensuite hydrolyser la 5-(4'-hydroxyphényl)hydantoïne afin de produire de la p-hydroxyphénylglycine.
