Abstract
Un procédé d'analyse spectrométrique de masse à temps de vol de faisceau d'ions à onde continue mis en ÷uvre à l'aide d'un dispositif correspondant, consiste à orienter un faisceau d'ions à onde continue d'une source d'ions (6) sur un moyen d'émission périodique d'ions de masses différentes d'un modulateur d'ions (2) dans un sens perpendiculaire à l'espace de dérive (18) des ions. On procède ensuite à une modulation pulsée périodique des ions de masses différentes par une accumulation successive d'ions dans le modulateur (2) pendant le temps de vol des ions présentant la masse la plus lourde, dans la zone de leur accumulation, puis à l'expulsion des ions de masses différentes à l'aide d'un moyen (7) d'expulsion des ions de masses différentes du modulateur d'ions (2) de la zone d'accumulation des ions de masses différentes, se traduisant par la discontinuité simultanée du faiscau à onde continue d'ions de masses différentes à l'aide d'un moyen (3) d'émission périodique d'ions de masses différentes pendant une durée de leur expulsion, et par l'accélération ultérieure d'ions de masses différentes à l'aide d'un moyen (10) destiné à accélérer les ions de masses différentes dudit modulateur d'ions (2) vers l'espace de dérive (18) des ions. Ensuite, on enregistre des paquets d'ions de masses identiques au moyen d'un unité d'enregistrement (21) d'ions.
