Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil de recyclage de polystyrène expansé à partir de déchets solides municipaux et plus particulièrement de déchets de restauration rapide. Un flot régulier de déchets est amené dans un broyeur pour réduire les déchets et leur donner une certaine taille de particule, dans un crible rotatif pour l'élimination des particules de déchets sous-dimensionnés et dans un classificateur pneumatique rotatif pour éliminer les déchets ''lourds'' du flot ou courant de déchets. A ce point, le flot de déchets comprend principalement du papier et du polystyrène expansé. Le papier et le polystyrène expansé sont amenés dans une cuve d'eau de transformation de la pâte qui transforme le papier en fibres de manière à le séparer du polystyrène expansé en le faisant passer par un tamis ayant une dimension de maille sélectionnée pour permettre à l'eau et à la pâte de papier de passer au travers du tamis mais en retenant le polystyrène expansé.
