Abstract

In a process for manufacturing a plush-type cleaning cloth from pile fabric, a coating of thermoplastic pile fibres is welded to a base structure of thermoplastic fibres at a temperature of 423 to 433 K (150 to 160°C). The pile fibres used have different melt temperature and shrink temperature properties and are spread flat so that a first fraction of the pile fibres shrinks at the welding temperature and a second fraction of the pile fibres does not shrink or shrinks less than the first fraction. The first fraction of the pile fibres comprises approximately 60 % of the total amount and its crimped, harder structure enhances the scraping action.

Description

Verfahren zur Herstellung eines plüschartigen Reinigungs¬ tuches und nach dem Verfahren hergestelltes Reinigungs¬ tuch oder hergestellter ReinigungshandschuhProcess for producing a plush-like cleaning cloth and cleaning cloth or cleaning glove produced by the process

The invention relates to a method for producing a plush-like cleaning cloth made of polypropylene, in which a covering of thermoplastic pile threads with a basic structure made of thermoplastic threads is anchored by welding at a temperature of approximately 423 to 433 K (150 to 160 ° C.) becomes. Because of the use of thermoplastic pile threads as trimmings compared to cotton threads, cleaning cloths of this type have a considerable cleaning effect even without the addition of chemicals and are used in particular for cleaning sanitary facilities. The high cleaning power is based on the scraping effect of the thermoplastic pile threads. The invention is based on a method which is described for a cover made of polypropylene for the support body of paint rollers in utility model 81 19 604.

The object of the invention is to further increase the cleaning power of a plush-like cleaning cloth made of polypropylene, which is produced by the method described at the outset. To achieve this object, it is proposed according to the invention that pile threads with such different melting or shrinking temperature properties are used in a flat distribution in the manufacture of the trim that a first partial amount of the pile threads shrinks at the welding temperature and a second partial amount of the pile threads does not shrink or shrinks less than the first subset. In this way, a cleaning cloth is obtained, the trimmings of which have heavily shrunk pile threads in a flat distribution, which, because of their shrunk, that is, crimped structure, exert a higher scraping effect than other, not or less shrunk, smoother pile threads, which in turn, however, ensure sufficient water absorption by capillary ¬ kung worry. The higher scraping effect of the shrunk pile threads of the first subset is due to the fact that when these pile threads come to rest on the surface to be cleaned during the wiping process, they run inclined or even transversely to the wiping direction in isolated areas because of their irregular crimped shape the smooth, not or less shrunk pile threads of the second subset, which are oriented in the wiping direction.

It has proven to be expedient that the first partial quantity of the pile threads is approximately 60% of the total quantity. The remaining 40% of not or less shrunk pile threads are sufficient for the capillary action to store water.

It is also recommended that the trimmings are sheared to an even length of all pile threads before anchoring under welding temperature. In this way, the strongly shrunk pile threads of the first subset become evenly shorter than the not or less shrunk pile threads.

As a normal cleaning cloth, a cleaning cloth produced by the method according to the invention is edged on the edges, as is generally known. However, the cleaning cloth can also be made up as a cleaning glove. In addition, the cleaning cloth produced by the method according to the invention is also suitable as a covering for window cleaners, for example according to DE-PS 28 44 185, or for treatment of the fur of horses after grooming.

In der Zeichnung ist das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren anhand von Ausführungsbeispielen erläutert, und zwar zeigenIn the drawing, the method according to the invention is explained using exemplary embodiments, namely show

Fig. 1 einen vergrößerten Teilquerschnitt des Polstoffes, undFig. 1 shows an enlarged partial cross section of the pole material, and

Fig. 2 is a plan view of a cleaning glove, the visible surface of which is partially cut away.

The basic structure of the pile material for a plush-like cleaning cloth consists of a fabric 1 with warp threads 2 and weft threads 3, which consist of thermoplastic material, preferably polyester fibers. Instead of a base fabric, a knitted or a knitted fabric or a nonwoven fabric can also be used. In a known manner, the base fabric 1 is provided with a trim made of thermoplastic pile threads 4 and 5, for example in the double plush process, after which these between 12 and 18 mm long pile threads with the base fabric 1 by infrared radiation or the like at a temperature of 423 up to 433 K (150 to 160 ° C) can be anchored by welding.

In a flat distribution, pile threads 4 of a first subset of about 60% of the total amount of pile threads are used, which shrink considerably under the welding temperature, as can be seen from the crimped shape of the pile threads 4. A second subset of pile threads 5 has melting or shrinking temperature properties which differ from those of pile threads 4 in that these pile threads do not shrink or melt less than the pile threads 4 at melt temperature Pile threads 4 are harder than the pile threads 5 and, due to their crimped shape, exert an increased scraping effect. In the cleaning glove 6 shown in FIG. 2, the visible cleaning surface covered with pile threads 4 and 5 is partially cut away, so that the base fabric 1 of the lower cleaning surface is visible. In the area of the opening of the cleaning glove 6, the cleaning surfaces are bordered by a band 7 which is provided with a loop 8.
