Abstract

Une tour de forage est pourvue de deux rails de guidage verticaux (127). Un cadre de support (135) glisse sur les rails de guidage (127). Le cadre de support (135) soutient un mécanisme supérieur d'entraînement (132) ayant une structure nouvelle, un serre-tubes rétractible nouveau (137) et un dispositif rétractible (138) de positionnement des tubes. Le mécanisme supérieur d'entraînement (132) comprend un moteur hydraulique ayant une tige creuse avec des filetages aux deux extrémités. La tige creuse est pourvue d'une roue menée qui la met en rotation et d'une pluralité de pignons agencés autour de la roue menée, en prise avec celle-ci, transmettant la puissance fournie par le moteur hydraulique à la tige creuse, au moyen des pignons. Un élément tubulaire à connecter en série avec la tige tubulaire d'entraînement dans la colonne de forage peut contenir une vanne à boisseau sphérique (133) au moyen duquel on peut couper l'écoulement de fluide à travers la tige tubulaire d'entraînement.
