Abstract

Le procédé consiste à empiler les rouleaux de bandes métalliques, en provoyant entre eux des espacements, à chauffer lesdits rouleaux et à les refroidir sous le moufle au moyen d'un gaz de protection à circulation forcée. On choisit la dimension minimale des espaces entre les rouleaux empilés de manière à assurer des écoulements thermiques égaux, transmis par convexion à partir du gaz protecteur et par rayonnement à partir du moufle. Le four à cubilot utilisé pour ledit procédé comporte un support avec un ventilateur incorporé, sur lequel on place, sous le moufle et un couvercle de chauffe, un empilement de rouleaux mutuellement séparés par des anneaux de convexion (13, 14, 15). Chaque anneau (13, 14, 15) comporte des nervures radiales de support (16) raliées par des cloisons intercostales (17). La hauteur (h) des nervures radiales (16) correspond à 0,15-0,4 de leur longueur.
