L'avantage de l'outil pour tendre les cordes est que son utilisation est très simple. La position en avant de l'axe de liaison (3) par rapport au point d'appui sur le cadre d'une raquette et par rapport au manche servant de levier, permet de pincer la corde et tendre en un seul geste. L'autre avantage, est la forme arrondie et creuse, Fig.2, des deux demi-cylindres permettant d'enrouler une corde autour d'eux et en plus de prendre appui sur le cadre sans glissement latéral. La pièce (3), Fig.3, par sa forme et sa place rend l'introduction d'une corde possible des deux côtés à l'inté¬ rieur des mâchoires. Le trou (15) de liaison de la pièce (3) est traversé par un axe conique (4) muni d'un pas de vis à son extrémité- (17) , en vissant l'axe on peut aisément varié la distance entre les mâchoires, ceci permet de serrer des codres de différents diamètres d'une façon optimale. L'avantage de la position du manche du tendeur de cordes se trouvant fixé au milieu de la partie creuse extérieure du demi-cylindre (1), facilite l'enroulement de la corde des deux côtés du cylindre. Pour permettre le contrôle de la force de tension d'une corde au moment de la mise sous tension un dispositif de contrôle (14) est incorporé à l'intérieur du manche. Les deux demi-cylindres (1,2) servant de mâchoires, sont reliés entre eux par le dispositif (3). Pour permettre l'ouverture et la fermeture des mâchoires (1,2) le dispositif de liaison (3) pivotte autour de l'axe (4). L'axe (4) selon Fig.3, est dans sa partie où il traverse l'ouverture (15 ), de forme conique (16). Le pas de vis (17), au bout de l'axe (4), permet un réglage de la distance entre les mâchoires (1,2). Le trou (15) de la pièce de liaison (3) est taraudé en forme conique avec le même angle d'inclinaison que la partie conique (16) de l'axe (4). Le liamètre de l'ouverture (15) de la éièce (3) correspond au diamètre, à l'endroit le plus large dans sa partie conique (16), de l'axe (4). La pièce (7), en forme de fourche, est fixée en haut du demi-cylindre (1) avec une inclinaison de 60 environ. La section supérieure de la pièce (8) se trouve à l'intérieur du tube (11), une ouverture (9) taraudée en longueur permet un déplacement perpendiculaire à l'axe (4) vers l'intérieur du tube (11).
