Abstract

Nouveaux composés indiqués pour être utilisés comme composants d'une composition de cristaux liquides smectiques ferro-électriques, contenant deux ou plusieurs centres chiraux dérivés d'acides alpha-hydroxy carboxyliques optiquement actifs, d'alcools secondaires et d'alcools terpénoïdes. Ces unités sont combinées avec une combinaison mésogène de groupes cycliques. Des composés préférés contiennent deux ou plusieurs groupes lactate, des groupes lactate et 2-octyle ou des groupes lactate et terpénoïde en combinaison avec des groupes phényle. Sont également décrites des compositions à base de cristaux liquides smectiques ferro-électriques contenant ces composés et un dispositif les utilisant.
