Abstract
Un procedimiento para la preparación de (S)-1-[(10-cloro-6,7-dihidro-4-oxo-3-fenil-4H-benzo[a]quinolicin-1-il)carbonil]-3-etoxipirrolidina de fórmula general (I) representada en la figura 1; cuyo procedimiento comprende convertir el ácido carboxílico de fórmula (II) (figura 2) o un derivado reactivo respectivo en la amida correspondiente, con una amina de fórmula general (III), donde R es hidrógeno o etilo, y cuando R significa hidrógeno, alquilar el compuesto resultante con un agente que ceda el grupo etilo. Los compuestos de fórmula (I) son útiles para la preparación de medicamentos para el tratamiento de trastornos del sueño, especialmente de hipnóticos no sedantes.
